Hi Christine I'm the same, alkaline phosphate up and got to wait 6/8 weeks to have another test, are you on any meds like statins or vitamins etc,

Not on statins l also have cholesterol of 4.8 so it's not that. I do have lupus so on a couple of Meds just stopped taking steroids but it's not that I'm hoping to go abroad for a year in December and really don't want to cancel. I do take cod liver oil and multi vital

That's very odd to me as I also have a fatty liver but when I was diagnosed I was very over weight i am from USA I was 196lbs when I was first told they told me if I lost weight it could easily be reversed. I am now down to 164 pound and eating much more healthy hoping to reverse this. My liver numbers have came way down and my doctor has very high hopes if I get down to about 140 lbs and my bmi to 27 this will be reversed. I am not and never have been a drinker either. I am very confused how u r not over weight not a drinker and eat healthy and still have a fatty liver??

That's the upsetting thing you can still have fatty liver and be a healthy weight and not drink and seems like I'm one of the unlucky ones.

So sorry for u! I did not know that was even possible! Not sure how that is even possible when my doc told me that was the cause of it it confuses me to b honest with you. I have had some health issues these past couple months and have received so many different answers from so many different doctors it's hard for me to know who to believe anymore. To b honest it's starting to kind of scare me. I'm sorry u have to go through this maybe you should get a second opinion.??

I was at a level of 7 which is classed as critical, I took extremely high dose for 3 months and its back to normal now but have to take vit d still but lower dose, now though I have increased LFTs and think may have fatty liver, I am also slim and don't drink, I don't think there's any hard or fast rules to who gets it

So then how do people like the 2 of u who already eat healthy and do what u r supposed to do reverse it?

I have absolutely no idea yet, I'm hoping that another test in 6/8 weeks will show an improvement, I am hopefully going for a scan and that will give more details as to what's going on. Christine have you had an injury recently

I'm really sorry for the 2 of u both if you doing every thing right and this still happens to both if you. I really hope they fig something out maybe something is just off or something. Just seems so weird to me. I do hear that it is very common but common in people that are over weight not in people like either if you two. I hope they get to the bottom of it please keep us updated! I am very curious on what they say.

Yea will do Joanne, I think we live in a world that has become hooked for the most part on unhealthy food and it takes something like this to stop us in our tracks, more and more people will become a victim of this disease and most will be non drinkers and slim, I believe its all the toxins we eat without realising it

I think u r right it stopped me in my tracks scared me to death! My family now laughs when I want the junk I use to eat and I tell myself no it's "poison" and I don't eat it but it's the truth and it makes me not eat it I tell them it really is poison they r like I wish I could just tell myself that and not eat something I'm like well when u get a health scare well for me anyway I'm 42 with 3 boys and a great life I'm not ready to go anywhere any time soon so it was enough for me to say enough is enough and do something about it! I hope for both of u this is just some kind of fluke and u can both just go on and live a normal healthy life that u were already doing ?.

Not everything that goes wrong with your body can be reversed. I am 69 and have just discovered I have Caroli's disease which affects the liver and biliary duct and there is absolutely nothing I can do to reverse it. I have to have a major op on Thursday to remove part of the liver. It is a genetic disease and actually only affects 1 in a million.  It is a fact that not all liver problems even fatty liver can be reversed and there are no hard and fast rules as Alexandria says as to who will get any type of liver disease - just that some life styles will make you more prone to some liver diseases.
