Hello, I know just how you feel,as I had the same op as you at the end of November. However, it does get better. I took (and still take) Feroglobin gentle iron for tiredness and fatigue. They are gentle on the stomach, so shouldn't cause constipation, that must be avoided! They have helped me,if you are in doubt ask your GP or pharmacist what they think. Take care.

      hi Emma

for a UTI I took d mannose powder . it a natural enzyme that draws ecoli bacteria in the bladder wall that doesnt eradicate when you take antibiotics.

the bugs bury themselves I to the bladder wall and hide.. this stuff they love and get stuck to it then you flush all the nasty bugs out when yiu wee.

antibiotics only will increase yiur attacks of UTI as we get used to them and so do the ecoli bugs also. it's nearly always ecoli that causes UTI.

you can get it online and best in powder form from sweetcures. I swear by it .

      hope this helps xx

threr weeks post op and have pain in my pelvic area and perinium is this because of the stitches ,been resting for the last two days as i have felt exhausted ( from doing nothing ) how far should you walk after this op as i think i over did it walking round the shops for a couple of hours ,i felt fine at the time

yes definitely over done the walking around.

stitches are healing and yiu still need to rest. yiur brave going shopping hun.

I'd take it very easy over next few weeks as your dontbwant your stitches to undo to soon.

it's still early days to be shopping hun.

yes that how many repairs fail because ladies feel good and do something that they used to doing before OP.

my consultant told me that standing put a lit of pressure on the pelvic floor and that's what yiu dont need as yiu have stitches trying to knit together.

I would say it takes 12 weeks to feel relatively normal but up to 12 months for all the healing to take place.

no heavy lifting for life and no jogging was my consultant words.

Yes its normal for energy levels to be very low and these will gradually increase after a few weeks. My op was 16 weeks ago and while my energy levels have increased my discomfort hasnt improved at all. It feels as if ive got a roll of barbed wire inside me and its impossible to sit or lay comfortably, standing for just a few minutes causes extreme discomfort. At my post op the doctor just said this is caused by the stitches but since then the discomfort has increased and my GP arranged for swabs to rule out an infection. These came back normal but my discomfort has continued, has anyone else experienced severe discomfort 4 months after rectocele surgery?

do you still have stitches in vag? if so this explains the discomfort hun.

depending how many stitches you had they can take months to dissolve.

CSN you return back to your consultant as ge can examine you and will, know the answers hu ,

Yes i do still have stitches in my vagina but id have thought after 17 weeks some would have dissolved and given me a bit of relief. Instead the discomfort is worse than in the weeks following the op which is odd, its impossible to sit or lie comfortably and standing for just a few minutes is almost intolerable. I long for the discomfort to end, this is far worse than the prolapse itself and it feels as if it will never feel normal down there.

sounds like the scar tissue is pulling. This is resolved by internal massage, which your PT can do. You can also do this at home. If you're not sure how then your PT can show you.

Thanks for your reply, sorry if i sound ignorant but what is a PT?

Ive got an appointment with one of the nurses at my doctors surgery on wednesday for an internal, will she be able to feel the scarring?

I wouldn't go fumbling around inside your vag if yiu still have stitches. I'd get my consultant to loom and give you some answers.

the scarring is internal so she may not feel it from outside. it could also be the internal stitches healing inside the body remember, we have the wound inside vag and the wound itself inside the body where the repair took place.

back wall repair do take longer to heal and I've known many ladies to have pain like you.

it can take months to feel normal again.

HI, Kaydi. PT stands for physical therapy. I think it's called something different in th UK (maybe physio). Your nurse is unlikely to be trained in scar tissue resolution, but you could ask.
