Red and irritated Penis Glans change with no explanation

i've posted here before but i'm running out of options. Does any one know why my glans would change a d now red, sligty bumpy and irritated when erect? when flaccid there are like pin prick red dots and seems more veiny.

this 100% came from unprotected oral about a year ago.

sti tests done. Garderella and ureaplasma positive in the past but done a couple of rounds of antibiotics and last urine teat fine.

tested positive for hsv1 by blood, which i never knew i had but healthcare professionals including urologists and GUM doctors say herpes would not present like this? could it have damaged nerves which effect my glans?

I feel it has to be herpes related. I did have a sort of outbreak byt couldnt get it swabbed due to covid.

I get other symptoms too which i dont understand.

I've spent too much time and money on this and really need help.

Are you sure it is Balanitis. That is what it looks like to me. If you still having sex or masturbating you will irritate the gland and it will not go away. Try some fungal cream and see what happens

not sure what is going on. I have tried fungal cream prescribed by the doc and not cleared it. Potentially made it worse.

Sorry that is what it looks like. You may have to get something else. Being we are all different another cream may help you. I would keep looking don't give up

yeah i saw this, loads of people have this problem but nobody ever comes back with a cure or even saying it went.

obviously we are all different but unprotected sex and oral seem to be a trigger so something happens.

cant get over herpes, i have small cuts and sore around my butt a rash on my groin and scrotum a good few months after. Only received oral.

never knew i had it and could have had it without symptoms from past exposure but seems coincidental.

not ideal i've got herpes but hsv1 and 70% of the population have it, I just dont want to be permanently reminded i messsd up.

Im working with a GUM doctor who is actually listening and trying to help. Done antibiotivs with no joy. He has now given me canesten hc again and a week of flucanazole.

It is possible for 1 GUM specialist to get things wrong, but when you have seen several or a number you need to take the consensus of what they are telling you.

In terms of dealing with penile skin that simply will not heal the practical steps you need to take are to, as far as possible, ensure that the ONLY thing that contacts the skin is warm water for cleaning and in the shower.

When things have been ongoing for quite a period of time the best specialist to see would be a Dermatologist who specialises in Genital Skin Disorders. In most health care systems such specialists are based at teaching hospitals - in the UK for example, these would be the largest General Hospital for the entire REGION in which you live, as this is where specialist units for all kinds of different treatments are based.

Again for the UK, find which is the largest teaching hospital and go to the GUM Clinic based on the hospital site, sometimes they are in city centre separate sites. Or, contact them and briefly outline the difficulties you have had in getting this sorted and whether you could get to see a Genital Skin specialist dermatologist, or if that is not possible, ask you you can contact one .....

    thanks for the reply.

take on board your comments but the doctors are wrong and unhelpful. I received oral without and ever since all changed. Not in my head.

i have gone private and have seen a GUM specialist who has actually reviewed my photos and agreed something is going on. We are exploring treatment. First different antibiotics and the flucanzole after. Then he will see me again to consider.

I have also booked to see a private dermatologist that has a specific interest in genital conditions.

There are too many people on here with similar symptoms and glans for it to be nothing. If it doesnt tick a box most doctors are poor.

There are many weird diseases and impacts of diseases that are rare. They do happen but not often. Look at Elsberg Syndrome for example. Most doctors just dont know enough about it or see it going on.
