hello pablo, seems like you got some skin reaction to the shower gel, usually we are only supposed to clean are penis with just warm water, and if you feel like you want to use some soap, try using some antibacterial soap, as it does not have chemicals that affects the glans of your penis, try washing off your penis with just warm water when showering, and see if it heals 😃 if not you can get some ointment but i suggest getting it from a doctor.

Not even soap, ever! All forms of soap, shower gel and other body wash stuff is simply too harsh for penile skin.
If if you exclude these for 3, 4 or 5 weeks your penile skin may still not have fully recovered - not masturbating for as long as you possibly can will often greatly help the skin recover ..
Do you apply anything else to the skin on your penis, such as skin cream / lotion, baby oil, that kind of thing?

Hi B, yes I am a proud Scot.
The amount of time it will take to resolve is dependant upon what the source of the irritation was - and the complicating issue is, sometimes there can be several sources of irritation, some of these you may not even be aware of.
For some, it is even what their clothes, bedding and towels are washed in.
So yes, washing with water only is sufficiently hygienic - if you are out of the house for a number of hours use a clean paper or toilet tissue to remove any urine residue from the tip area of your penis after you take a leak. Then wash when you get home.
The essential is to use a clean dry towel that only you use.
You may seem to achieve nothing doing this, and this can go on for 3, 4, 5 or even more months - and as I say this is dependant on what the original source was and whether or not contact with the source(s) has been permanently removed.
Try for a further 2 or 3 months and if it still persists I can guide you further - do start a new discussion Form though.
No, no, no a huge %'age with these issue simply do not even need to think about the chop - let's keep you and all your body bits together .....

Yes, this is very common - if you think of it: most of us are born with near perfect skin, then begins the onslaught, as far as our genitals are concerned, of soap, shower gel and other forms of body wash.
When we start masturbating or/and sex many of us apply baby oil, skin cream, lubes and all sorts to the very sensitive skin of the foreskin and head of the penis. Eventually this simply becomes too much for the skin to deal with any more and irritation results.
Ohh, make sure you apply only a very light coating of Coconut Oil as too much can become part of the problem. The other essential is when you dry after washing or taking a shower there should be no trace of moisture left behind - so make sure to expose the entire inner-foreskin and dry everywhere ....

Doing the water now about 2 weeks! no soaps...... Btw after Urination? do you rinse it or just paper towel dab??

Rinse is best, rub around the meatus (pee hole) with fingertips to clean - then fully dry. If you cannot wash, such as when you are out of the house use a paper tissue or toilet tissue. before you start to urinate draw the foreskin as far down the shaft of the penis towards the body for commencing urination .....

You should not need to rely on canesten - only if you are getting re-infected with a yeast / fungal infection, such as from unprotected vaginal sex.
I'm not sure whether you stated whether you are sexually active or not?
So the years of nothing, unfortunately there can be lots going on that have implications for the overall health of the skin on the head / glans of penis. For most men the biggest problem is everyday soaps, shower gels and other forms of body wash. So, it is an accumulative effect - the skin gets to the point where it can no longer deal with what it is exposed to on a regular and one-off basis. it can reach the point where almost anything the skin of the head of the penis is in contact with causes further irritation.
This is why you need to be extremely cautious with things like canesten, it can actually further weaken the skin and create more of a problem.
is it possible for you to see a Skin Specialist such as a Dermatologist .... ?
