If I was you I would be making another appointment with a different doctor and getting a second opinion,, it could be a bacterial infection or nothing but best to be checked.

It's an absolutely horrendous way to live your life with a fear of some perticular illness/disease that we become convinced is going to kill us, sooner than later, how old was your gran, did she drink heavily, smoke, carry excess weight, no exercise, have other underlying health issues etc

Sadly a lot of us suffer with anxiety and health anxiety is usually the root of it as we have an over active fear of death.

At 24 and with healthy life choices you will live to be a good age and the chances of that being cancer after your 2 doctors telling you it's not is millions 2 one so forget that option,, you say you keep clearing your throat,, that will definitely cause inflammation and as long as you keep doing it the more it will continue.

Suck a boiled sweet or sip water to stop the chain reaction

Yes Alexandria made a good suggestion there -get a second opinion -& show a picture to get your description across clearly

Or -if possible see if you can get a hospital appointment in the relevant department -(maybe ear nose & throat (ENT ) section?
