Red patch on penile head

Posted , 18 users are following.

Red spot on the head for 5-6 months.

Does not bring any discomfort (except for psychological).

19, Virgin.

Tried various ointments and antibiotics - didn't help.

The doctor says that this is a vascular spot, but this spot appeared at the age of 19 years, as far as I know it's impossible.

I believe spots like this can appear at any time. Looks harmless to me.

I read somewhere that a red spot on the penile head is an early symptom of penis cancer.

Hi jimmybro, I agree with Pepasan, marks like this can appear on any part of the body at anytime.  Some dissapear, some you have for the rest of your life.  Believe me, if I went to the Dr every time I had an concern like this I would be there every few weeks.  This is because I have a severe skin condition of the penis and to counteract this I have to do stretches and exercises so that my penis looks like a normal, healthy adult penis.  As a result, I am constantly injuring either the skin on the shaft of the penis, or the glans / head itself.  The vast majority heal and disappear, others stay longer, others stay permanently.

*You did the right thing in getting a medical professional to check this out for you.  You should be reassured by what the doctor has said.

The glans is very vascular so this is not something to worry about

Updated a photo. Left - patch after appearance, right - after 7 months.

It seems to me it has increased a little.

Not an increase that would cause me any alarm.

Urologists say that this is early stage of Erythroplasia of Queyrat and i need to do Circumcision and grinding of spot.

I hope you'll ignore the circumcision advice. You'll lose a lot of pleasure sensing nerve endings if you have that done. There are nearly always better alternatives than circumcision.

I know that circumcision is bad, but when choosing between losing sensitivity and cancer of a penis with metastases to the organs and a painful death, then I better choose the first option. I do not see other alternatives, let's say I cure it with liquid nitrogen, or surgical removal, not the fact that a new spot will not appear in a year, and every year going to the hospital and cutting out a penis is not an option, so sooner or later it will be completely removed.

If anyone is interested, I will do a biopsy around June 25th to find out exactly what this spot is. If it is erythroplasia of queyrat of any other precancer, ill do Circumcision. I will write the next post until the middle of July with biopsy results.

      Hi Jimmy,

I hope you were able to solve or at least get clarity of your issue. Any update on the biopsy?

Any updates here guys. i now have a similar issue following initial red rash over glans

Hi Jimmy did you have a biopsy done?

I have a very similar spot. The doctor thought balanitis but its been months of me practicing perfect hygiene and a cream and I have no results.

Hi Worried, the problem with the term Balanitis is that for most males it is a nothing more that a 'catch-all' phrase describing red irritated skin of the glans / head, and / or foreskin of the penis. It says nothing about what has either caused it, nor what needs to be done to cure it.

So I am glad you have put an exemplary hygiene practice in place - but it sounds to me if you have the hygiene right then the cream is not the right one ....

Have you had a Biopsy done ..... ?
