I too am in the process of resolving this issue. After 6 months, 4 doctors, and a scary misdiagnosis of herpes, I believe I have been properly diagnosed with a yeast infection. It all started with issues while urinating, like an urge to go and an issue feeling like it wasnt all out. Then the redness came, and since noone diagnosed me correctly, eventually the urethra pain and testicle pain came as well. This began after a night of unprotected sex with someone who i was almost positive (via testing) was clean. Although through my own research I thought all the signs pointed to thrush/candida, no creams helped, and the burning tip etc was concerning. The only thing that helped was the Lotrimin powder until a doctor prescribed me Fluconazole. Three doses to be specific since it was "severe." I wanted to share, because I am a circumsized male, which is a population is apparently does not often happen to. Doctors brushed off my mentions of balanitis and thrush because I didnt present as extremely "severe" (discharge/smell/massive swelling) and I was circumsized. Hope this helps others. Honestly primary doctors and a urologist failed me. Cant say enough about Planned Parenthood. They listened to my saga, were so thorough, and have solved my issue.

    Hi!

I want to spend my experience too

    I have a similar situation.

I'm in this situation since 2 years, it started with a balanitis, and the skin became slowly more dry after masturbations and sex.

The girl with I had sex discovered, after 1 year, to have a stafilococcus aureus infection.

    I've been to 11 doctors:

    • 1 made a wrong diagnosis of lichen and gave me a steroid/antifungal/antibiotic cream that BURNED my skin istantly (I had an allergic reaction) so yes, steroid creams only made things worse and could be mistaken by a disease but its the steroid cream itself the problem.

    • 9 Doctors said it was a passed infection but now only the skin healing from a traumatic balanitis

    • 1 Doctor suspected a current infection, but said that I'm almost healed now

    So:

The diagnosis is the first step, but some doctors failed the diagnosis and made things only worse.

Now, after 7 months I'm feeling a little bit better and FOR SURE the steroid cream gave me a big problem.
