Reflux and antidepressants

Hi all I have had silent reflux for a few years take lansoprozle I get pains in my left side of chest and arm pain as well as nausea and throat troubles because the pain is heart attack like it's lead me to have panic attacks the doctor prescribed sertraline but I've had severe reaction to it so today is my last day on it only took 3 tonight however I have the worst chest and arm pain ever I haven't been eating anything as the pills make me sick but I have drunk some slim fast shakes as these have vitamins in I was wondering if anyone else had this before ? I honestly can't take this pain it's horrendous and scaring the life out of me

    Hi I suffer with all the same symptoms but I was on citolarapm for my panic attacks and lansopolza for my acid reflux but the Dr changed my acid tablets to ranitidine and gavison as they were interfering with my antidepressants x

      I was put on sertraline but it gave such severe side effects it was unbearable one being severe heartburn rolleyes also ranitidine gives me severe muscle pain it's so weird and uncomfortable I'm starting to feel like a oddity lol still keep trying it's been four days now with constant pain but docs jus keep saying it should pass even with all my lifestyle changes and medication I'm yet to feel relief

    Sounds to me like the ant-acid pills are causing Acid rebound - they treat immediate acid but for many people the stomach organs say 'hey hey hey it's too alkaLine so we are gonna make lots of acid for you - wooooo, there you go, lots of acid.

    Thus us from another person on this site, like you:

    Since this time I have been taking HCL (Hydrchloric Acid) with Pepsin tablets (a natural supplement) with each meal (except breakfast) along with Digestive Enzymes. I HAVENT HAD A SINGLE BOUT OF REFLUX OR REGURGITATION SINCE DOING THIS and I put this down to the fact that food is now being properly digested by the HCL.........

    So hope this helps!!!

    Thanks for all the information

    The attack lasted all night and still there this morning slightly painful now these attacks are getting out of control leave me nauseas and feeling ill all day does anyone else suffer this ?

    Ahhhhhhhhhh, Samantha, I'm on Fluoxetine, have been for a month and a half (please read my post).. I've had few of the side effects, though my Dr said to keep on taking it.. But. Today I looked at the leaflet again inside the box and it said that Pain in the Gullet and Difficulty Swallowing were side effects.. Also I can't seem to stop bloody Yawning! Grrr
