Same here. I documented it in my One Person's journey on Sertraline here. I hope tomorrow is better for both of Us!

I've been on it for 6 weeks it was working well up until the 5 week mark as well, and I'm also due to get my period this upcoming week so I'm all messed up feeling off balanced and anxious

So do I. The side effects wore off after two weeks and was feeling more like myself but I'm just feeling flat and spaced out again.

Yep I know that feeling. It's a struggle at the moment.

Same here I thought the first four weeks were great and then like you said back to square one. I guess it takes our bodies awhile to fully get adjusted to the medication

hi all, are you on high or low doses of sertraline?

if on low doses, and if your initial side effects have eased/passed (assuming you got startup side effects), perhaps your dose is not enough to be effective and could be increased?

I was thinking that. I'm on 50mg for 5weeks and was thinking maybe I should increase to 75mg and see how I go. I was getting on so well. The side effects passed after 2weeks. Still yawning. I have noticed I'm bruising so easily though

      Hi Moonflea,

I have been on 50mg for 7 weeks, and still not feeling great, but better than I was. I am also thinking of upping to 75mg as have no appetite whatsoever and high anxiety mornings. Have you been on sertraline before or is this your first time?

This is my first time. I've been prescribed anti depressants before but couldn't stick the first week. Determined to keep taking these as I've had enough of being a shell of my former self. I've got over the side effects but the past few days I feel like I'm back to square one. I take it more for social anxiety disorder. Didn't got to work Thursday and Friday and going to the shops yesterday for food shopping was hard. I'm feeling even more anxious about going back to work tomorrow and worried about getting a grilling for not being in.

Sorry just read your last thread. Have you thought about increasing to 75mg x

Yes I'm feeling anxious about work on Tuesday. Do keep taking the sertraline, I'm sure you will be feeling better soon, may be another couple of weeks before you feel it . I wouled say that if no better by 8th week, go back to dr. That's what I will do, I'm on week 7. Hope we are both feeling better tomorrow! x

Thank you. It's nice to talk to people that are going through the same things and can relate x

I am so glad I personally chose to up my dose to 100. My doctor had said 100 was a normal dose and he planned to ease me into it. I chose to increase it myself. This is not recommended but I'm glad I did.

Looking back, since my symptoms were depression, social anxiety and suicidal thoughts, I would have upped my dose faster, and found/hired someone to check in on me twice a day. Writing my progress on this website kept me sane thru the escalation of depression / suicidal thoughts. For me, the daily blogging served as an anchor. Upping myself to 100 MG faster gave me shorter time frame of torture. I do better getting thru hell faster than a long drag out pressure.

I have also been thinking about upping my dosage myself... did you feel any different when you did ? If so how long did it take to notice ? Does your doctor know you have increased ??

Yes, my doctor was going on vacation, and so was I, so the normal "come back in month and we will plan on increasing it" didn't work for us. I upped my dose myself from 25 to 37 after two and half weeks. Then I saw him, and he said I could up to 50 then 75 then 100, seeing how I felt. Do I took 75 for two days and jumped to 100. I wrote about it in One Person's journey on Sertraline here.
