Hello

so about 3 months ago i started having really bad panic/anxiety... Was not eating and was shivering all the time. This happened with me for the first time in life. Went to psychiatrist he prescribed me on 30mg remeron. The first time i took the tablet i was very lightheaded and dizzy so doctro reduced the dosage to half...means 15 mg..and I started feeling a bit better in few days...

Now after about 2 months and 10 days.. I have increased the dosage to 30mg..and my fears are sort of increased the next day.. Am more nervous..shacky...anxious...

Is this common..? Will I be okay in a few days.? Does anyone here can realted to this..? Or should I go back to 15mg.. Cant talk to doc at the moment..

Mirtz seems so inconsistent.  Many people on here have suffered with going up in their dosage. I'm on 30mg also with two other meds. I was on 45mg at one point but nothing was working. Also it seems that the lower the dose the more sedative it is.

After a few good days bad morning.  As it is a lovely day I am going to the pool.  I find that after about half an hour's swim I feel a lot better.

Kat50 is right 15mg has much more sedative than 30mg and is more used for people who suffer with insomnia.  For me personally 15mg turned me into a zombie and 30mg gave me anxiety and put me on the edge of my seat - I didnt want to find out what happens at 45mg when my doctor recommended I go up AGAIN.

I have some questions for both Hun & Kat:

-Have you suffered MORE since being on mirtazapine?

-Do you think mirtazapine making you worse then before you were on medication?

-Are doctors giving you more medication to combat side effects of other medication?

If the answer is yes to the above please remember it is YOUR body.  You know your body and you know if something isn't working.  I never had panic attacks until I started on mirtazapine, and now I havent had a panic attack since I stopped taking it.  Good luck to you both, be strong, remember you control your emotions!

Hi Nick, I was put on my meds as one wasn't working on it's own. I was put on mirt for sleep and appetite.  It helps me sleep but hasn't given me an appetite.  I want to taper down and come off mirt soon to see if it's that that's making me still feel awful.

Hiya Kat50 it definitely made me feel awful, chronic sickness, ringing in the ears - just so many negative side effects.  It did make me eat more I have always been skinny but put on half a stone but lost it very quickly after coming off mirtazapine.

Well I won't say it has made me worse .,. Coz I was having bad bad panic symptoms before starting this and it stopped those immediately... and was improving but then suddenly it seems to have stopped doing what it was doing..so increasing dosage might help.and it is one of the best drugs out there of its kind...so it should be trusted...

But yeah at some point I can say my fears hav increased during this time.. Don't know if its because of medicine or its just normal ..

What a shame you can't see your doctor. Perhaps going up on your dosage is too much for you.

Hun were you on other medication before mirtazapine ? Everyone is different but I see so many people on a trail of medication different medication and then they think one is good, then no wait bad side effects then go on another and ye thats much better, wait its stopped working need stronger.  These are drugs that play with your brain - I am not a doctor nor do I want to be one I just want to be me and that is in control of my own body and med free.

No dear... I just tried vitamins and natural stuff to help combat anxiety..no such medicine.. This is my first one and I hope it continues to work as it was working well for me. But last 2 weeks were a bit rough...lets see what the doctor will say about it.

I went up to 30mg of mirtazapine and my symptoms got worse plus the side effects so I had to come off it after a week of 30mg, I felt anxious, suicidal, sick, dizzy, and tired and lethargic all day. I found the higher dose more sedative.

YEs I found the same... higher dosage is more sedative for me

Really strange my doctor told me that 15mg has is the highest sedative and for me he was right.  But 30mg was worse but not for sedative reasons but for what you described, anxious, suicidal, sick, dizzy - also tired but not sedated like a zombie when i was on 15mg.
