Hello

so about 3 months ago i started having really bad panic/anxiety... Was not eating and was shivering all the time. This happened with me for the first time in life. Went to psychiatrist he prescribed me on 30mg remeron. The first time i took the tablet i was very lightheaded and dizzy so doctro reduced the dosage to half...means 15 mg..and I started feeling a bit better in few days...

Now after about 2 months and 10 days.. I have increased the dosage to 30mg..and my fears are sort of increased the next day.. Am more nervous..shacky...anxious...

Is this common..? Will I be okay in a few days.? Does anyone here can realted to this..? Or should I go back to 15mg.. Cant talk to doc at the moment..

I wass on 15 mg for 2 months and I thought it was the wonder drug.  It worked overnight and I felt fantastic.  Then it stopped working and It was increased for 8 weeks but did nothing so up to 45.  I felt ghastly on this so GP took me off.

The GP advised taking the Venlafaxine again.  I took 75 mg for 10 years but it stopped working.  I am on it at the moment it was inreased to 150 g then 225.  I have cut it back to 150 mg but it's still not working.

My reply went before I had finished.  I was going to say that I am seeing a psychatrist at the hospital on Thursday and I hope he can sort my meds out.  | have been on several SSRIs as well as Mirt and Ven.  I just hope they come up with something that gives me my life back!

My family payed for me to see consultant 2 weeks ago £300 in Cardiff he saw me for 20 minutes read my file and said "Right Mirtazapine not working obviously so I am going to prescribe you what I have prescribe most people, infact i prescribed it over 15 times yesterday and it is called Gabbapentin - it may make you loose your ballance occasionally, also it can change peoples walk (gait)".

Patricia please think for yourself when you see this Psychiatrist.  Do not believe that this person will have the cure for you and be aware of them trying to prescribe you more and more medication.  If you were in America you would be prescribed cannabis as an antidepressant - not sure thats the answer either however, if I had the choice to take man-made drugs with a list of side effects, or weed I know which I would pick!  My journey with medication started at 10 and I am now 27 off absolutely everything and never felt better.

I have never heard of that drug.  Did you take it?I know that I shouldn't build my hopes up as one of the ladies I private message on here has been seeing a psychatrist and so far she is just the same.  I also know another lady who is seeing one and she is just the same.  But at least it's on the NHS..

I do envy you being off drugs aand delighted that you feel so good.

Hello Patricia, I refused to take the medication.  I told him I came off mirtazapine and his reply was "On your own?" he was very shocked.  He did tell me that they obviously weren't working and I have done the right thing but then tried to get me on gabbapentin as I mentioned earlier but when he mentioned the loss of balance etc and I researched it myself looking at the side effects I just made my own decision.  It is MY body and if I dont make a stand and look after it - who will ?

What were your symptons on 45mg? I started on 15mg for 4 weeks but only had better sleep, didn't touch anxiety/depression. Upper by doc to 30mg for 6 days but was hospitalised as could not carry on.  Consultant upped dose to 45mg which was ok for the first week but have had a couple of nasty anxiety attacks in the second week. Also worried that dose may be too high as wasn't on 30mg for long.

How r u doing? R u off all meds? I just don't know if I can stay on this mirtazapine

I came off the Mirt and went onto Cit, I could not cope with the anxiety as it was far worse than I had experianced before......

The 15 was fine but the 30 was just manageable but the 45 was sheer torture I would get off this drug as each dose increase or decrease was realy difficut.

Since I've only been on 13 days and one ssy at 7.5 and the rest of dosages at 5 or 3.75 mg do u think there would be an issue stopping?

Think I will go down to the 3.75 tonight for a few days and then stop - ???? Haven't been on this long thank God!

I would check with the GP before stopping but on so low a dose you would be fine in a couple of days.

      Cheers! Stevie
