I pray all goes well for you as far as finding a solution to help with the pain without meds if possible. I can relate to your story meaning i should not have surgery in first place seems worser now.

of time in bed in constant pain , I felt like there was a red hot mass inside of me. I went privately to have it removed by a very good Colorectal Surgeon
he was astonished when he saw the mess ...he said it was a tennis ball size
of pus ... and boy, that's exactly what it felt like !!!
plus a number of metal staples ... removed! I know I was given antibiotics during and after the Operation .... I'm not a fan of Antibiotics .. but I badly needed them .
I don't know why they use these damn things .. I can't even put the end of a plastic pen on my lips without them swelling .. so this mesh probably had the same effect !!
My advice to any one would be .... Never Ever have it Done !
I have had no ill effects since the Mesh has been taken out
I would never allow them to do this to anyone in my Family !

Just a quick to the point question...
You say you had your mesh and the staples removed..? Did this bring relief? I have been in constant discomfort and groin pain/mainly right testicle pain and right groin where the mesh was placed...
I am in the process or possibly having staples removed which may be trapping a nerve or having mesh and staples removed...
Do you feel any better? What has your process been like. How long did it take to heal and how do you feel now?

I have also tried the majority of procedures to find a way to alleviate the pain.
You have to follow your own path, but after reseraching both mesh removal and a tripal neurectomy
UCLA Medical Group Dr Parvis K Amid ( He was the first Doctor to coin the term Meshoma) and is probably the top resercher/surgeon dealing with hernia mesh complications.
He said he of course would do the surgery if I wanted it, but said that the probablity of me having more pain afterwards would be greater, the same applied to a TN.
I had already paid out of pocket a $100,000 for procedures and both of these surgeries were expensive $35,000 plus
My main surgeon and the only person that would help me was Dr Grischkan in Ohio
I have a modified swimming routine and have cut out ANY foods that cause an inflammatory process. ( Mostly sugar, which is the No 1 evil hidden in most foods)
I understand the desperation that so many of these posts reveal. I lost the use of my left leg at one stage and have invested thousands of hours trying ti figure all of this out.
My last surgery I had the spiral tacker removed which was drilled so deep into the bone that it bent the surgical tool.
What EVER you do with your treatment, find a specialist that does nothing else but work with hernia complications. Even then, check out their success rate and talk to their patients that have been treated.

So your still suffering! My husband has had chronic pain for over 10years now and it's ruined his life. It has now been so long he is giving up on trying. We have tried everything, now he just takes 15 tablets a day and is still in pain. Since discovering about this awful mesh and what it can do i believe this is the cause of his pain, although not one doctor has ever even mention mesh pain. They have told him he just needs to deal with it, which as you must be well aware is very hard. He has distanced himself from any social life as he's just never in the mood to be happy and chatty. He doesn't even want to talk bout this mesh removal that i have discovered because he says he can't handle getting his hopes up for another doctor to tell him there's nothing they can do....
Thanks for taking the time to reply to me, I've never done this 'blogging' stuff before but thought i might be able to get some advice and support.... And it's work so thank you! 😀

When I talk about mesh removal I am talking about about it from my experience only. The anatomical placement of the mesh of a laparoscopic procedure is very different than that of an open surgery.
I tried nerve blocks, which is a hit and miss procedure. I ended up having more pain after the procedure.
I tried radio frequency treatment, radio frequency ablation, neither had any effect.
I tried Cymbalta, which has terrible side effects.
The mesh remaining in me is attached to my bowl, colon and femoral artery. The mesh they removed had set like concrete with serrated edges that was cutting into me.
I understand the way your husband feels, I dont know how many doctors told me they could help.
Another surgery means more scar tissue and potential nerve damage. Surgeons dont really know what they can do for you, because until they get in they cannot determine the damage.
I was turned down by so many surgeons because they just don't have the experience. If you come across this site and read these stories my advice is to stay away from laproscopic procedures. There are many reasons, but its mostly because there are far more chances that mistakes can be made.
