Returning threadworms for years....

HI, I've had treadworms for almost 5 years now! Ive been eating loads of Opex and Mebendazole. I tried the pumpkin seeds and eaten garlic every day for months...I've also gone up to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases In London to see a specialist for the last 8 months....All their treatment has not worked either. It always comes back! My husband or my two children have never had it and we dont have any pets....I keep a very clean house and im so careful with my hygiene...What can i do to get rid of these? Help Please.....Its driving me insane!

okay guys this seems like a very horrible problem that my two little girls have developed from playing in mud this summer, so i checked and yes they both have it. I have washed all bedding I am washing there behinds with a mix of detol and water morning and night I have cut out sugar for them they are drinking lemon water and I have applied coconut oil to there behind also. wash clothes change underwear hoover and mop around beds reduce there bedding to a blanket and stuff that's easily washable, invest in a dryer it kills anything on the clothes and wash everything at 90 degrees. hope maybe some of this helps goodluck x also they have had medicine from pharmacy.

Hi. Itchy bottom can be symptom of allergy. Check your IgE (Immunoglobulin E) analysis result. I thought that I have threadwroms for years, but it turned out to be allergy.

Hi. Itchy bottom can be symptom of allergy. Check your IgE (Immunoglobulin E) analysis result. I thought that I have threadwroms for years, but it turned out to be allergy for feces or slime from intestines(also I have never seen any worms in my feces), also I can use toilet paper to make itch gone. Now I do exercises to strengthen the anus, so there will be less feces and slime on my bottom. Also my eosinophils analyse was ok

    Hi Anna,

I know this is an old post and I hope that by now you don't even remember ever having worms, but I wanted to reply to your post anyway, because I believe new people keep landing on this forum while dealing with the little monsters.

I was just as desperate as you, constantly washing and still being the only one in the house with the problem. I was struggling to sleep at night because of the tickling feeling, had used ovex to no avail and was just beginning to accept the idea that this was my new life now. But then, thank God, I ran into this post and my life changed: https://patient.info/forums/discuss/i-thought-i-had-persistent-threadworms-but--437525?page=1&order=Oldest.

I saw all the similarities between what the writer went through and my own story and followed her advice and my symptoms have almost gone!! I've slept for three nights in a row now and I'm just so happy! If you find you cannot get rid of the worms, please read the post above. I truly hope it helps you as much as it helped me. And if it does, please reply. We don't have to live with worms for years!! I wish everyone knew!

    All the best,

    Sarah
