Hi all

If you remember, I'm the one with the list of over 60 symptoms! I have been dead against HRT, and things seemed to be improving. However I started to feel like the depression & bad anxiety was coming back, & slapped on a patch in desperation!

A few days later...uh-oh!! Had been getting migraines and bad nausea, wierd thoughts, anxiety. Then had a horrifically insane epiode last night....the shaking, reflux, panic attack, crazy head back with avengeance! My left arm became incredibly weak & I couldn't get up the stairs for a while, legs were wierd. Diahorrea too. Crying like an idiot. Had to get up eventually as I desperately had to go to the loo!

Anyway ripped the flipping thing off, got to it before my husband did lol!

So HRT..genuinely brilliant for some (including my friends)....unfortunately not for me rolleyes

    What a horific reaction!

The HRT sems to work differently on everyone it seems.

I saw a doctor yesterday for the first time about all of my symtoms.  I lucked out with this doctor.  He was finishing my sentences for me.  He is sending me to a Compounding pharmacy.  Also a doctor to do a consult on what my body needs.  She customizes the ingredients to fit each patient.  This will replace HRT problems.  I hope this will help or I will stay on HRT, it is the only relief I have gotten.  I am having my knees xrayed and sent to an orthopedic surgeon.  This doctor is going to treat each of the symtoms seperatly and see how everything may relate to each other.  My body was completly deficient of all estrogen.

Instead the patch have you tried the pill form?  There is also a vaginal pill, of all things.  That way it by passes the liver.  I have used all three and the pill by mouth is the best for me.

I have been given the vaginal estrogen for bladder problems, but haven't use them yet. I might give it a try when the HRT is out of my system...maybe. I don't really want to use any more HRT in any form now, my little body is too sensitive. Back down to 7st 12lb!

Hi, just thought I would reply as like many women I too can't tolerate hrt, I have numerous ones and every time I get violent on them.

I have struggled all my life with hormone problems bad pmt pms, hot sweats anger violent, everytime I went to GPS they just stuck me on antidepressants none of which helped.

I am now 51 and struggled through life only having two good weeks per month, this menopause thing has a lot to answer for, I started it four years ago irratic cycles mad psychological stuff, hypothyroidisum, suicide thoughts, sobbing for no reason, (eating chips one day)  lost two stone put on two stone, up and down emotions, incontinence, now I have a prolapsed bowel, piles and other stuff, hair loss and growth in places not meant to be, eye problems, BPPV benign positional vertigo tinitus, loads more but you get the picture.

i am starting to take a cocktail of vitamins, I could open my own shop, can't take soya because of the thyroid problems so have to have them all separate, arrrggggghhhhh.

Hope it will all end soon.  😡😜

Looking back, I'm realizing I've had bad hormonal sensitivity my whole life too.... even started my periods at age 10, so very young to start suffering all this. Guess I'm going to have to 'tough it out' till things eventually start settling down a bit rolleyes

      Brimbo,

You and Scampi bring up something I have noticed here. It seems to be a very common thread among us suffering more than others during this time. We all seem to have had prior rough times with PMS and I too started my periods at age 10. Wonder if this is really that common among us and if there is some sort of coorelation to how we will do during this time.

I have many friends who didn't suffer with PMS and have not had a rough time during Peri/Menopause. Interesting. Wonder if there are any studies.

      Hope you feel better.

Thanks Annie. The menopause lady i saw at the Well Woman clinic thinks there's definitely a link.

I read somewhere else about a link between traumatic events in childhood (which I had) and some of the emotional/psychological severity during menopause. May just be mumbo jumbo. But it's wortha thought x

Guys, my PMS afected my stomach, making me sick and prone to low blood pressure.  It took me years to relate one thing to another.  But that was it, nothing more to complain.  Compared to most women I know, it was very mild. No relevant mood swings, pain, disconfort, pimples, cramps, nothing, besides that.  No other problems before or during periods, and I started it at 13.

Traumatic event at childhood makes some sense, but maybe it is really manbo jambo, for everyone has something traumatic to remember, is not it?!

Well saw my GP this morning, & after nearly 7 months since my first stay in hospital, I'm having full bloods, vitamins, kidneys, liver everything.

Have to wait at least 2 weeks as there's a 'back-log' of bloods.

Thyroid was 'fine' bit still raised anti-bodies. ECG was fine.

Told her about my 'episode' & she said i didn't have to use HRT & reccomended soy & sweet potatoes again. And vitamin D. And reassured me that it would all stop one day.

Also advised getting a 'lightbox' for these winter months to help with low mood. And turning off computer screens by 8pm as it affects melatonin levels, & interferes with sleep. & mobile screens. (that's a toughie in these days of social media!) I was already trying to do this but..... yep got to be more disciplined!!

How are you feeling now?  I am taking note of the word discipline as I need to do this too - my sleep has been a real issue and I do believe if I switch off all artificial light earlier in the evening it will help.  I also have a clock that simulates sunset and sunrise and I think it really helps to switch those chemicals into night and morning mode.

Does the GP wonder if you have something else going on?  She sounds very reassuring with her reminder it will get better.  Take care.
