Hi Everyone I'm new to this forum and trying to get some answers. My PSA test went from 1.1 Dec 2017-1.2 June 2018 then 1.7 Oct 2019. Im 51 and prostate cancer do run in my family. I had DRE in DEC 2017 and apart from moderate enlargement everything was good. I will be seeing the urologist next month and request another DRE along with a biopsy. Just wanted to know if I should be concerned. Thanks for your in put in advance.

A well referred urologist is who you require, someone on top of their game who is capable of offering options, if necessary, when the time arrives. Seems 'wait and see' might be appropriate for you at this time. My diagnosis revealed stage 1, agressive, within a year, action required. Chill, trust good and effective doctors.

    Hi everyone,

I was ghost for couple of days while I further investigated my rising psa. For this I apologize. I had a new psa/free psa test done this pass wed at the same lab and the results were 2.1/ 19% which indicates psa still rising and free psa abnormal. I will see my Urologist next week so I can request a 3Tmpmri and a fusion biopsy of the prostate. I will keep all posted. Thanks for your support.

oh yes. times two. plus two biopsies.

Last years biopsy said I had PIN but dont worry he said, dont believe what you read online he said...well he was wrong...

This years biopsy said....gleason score 7..4/3...procedure needed.

Now getting as much info from the net as possible on... pre procedure, procedure (TBD)...post procedure...

So anyone with anything to advise, please feel free....

You mean PNI not PIN, right.

And he is a fool, as you saw, for saying not to worry. I too had PNI,

What did the 3T MRI report indicate?

    hi.

No it is def PIN. ABNORMAL cells in prostate which the consult. said were unlikely to progress to cancer. But they did. hey ho.

Scans each showed the same - no changes noted from first to second. Biopsy 2 found them.

So were the cancerous cells there but not picked up first biopsy or was the second one " lucky" or had things moved on? Dunno.

It was only the fact I had increases in psa which indicated trouble.

Nowt to do but see what treatment they suggest.

    thanks

It seems the issue is growing on you. Do something about it and get a checkup and talk about options with the doctor.

    Rising PSA is not good.

The fact that a biopsy was not informative means either the samples taken were not representative of what is going on OR the pathologist is not as skilled as he/she thinks he/she is.

Ideally a specialist (in prostates) pathologist is what you need. I waited for a couple of months a few years ago for a very skilled person to examine the biopsy samples in my case.

I have a similar situation at the moment Oscar. My PSA has risen from 0.7 to 1.7 in about 7 months. I did see the urologist last year in September and he did tell me that I have an enlarged prostate and that PSA levels can rise because of this. My GP is very concerned though and wants to see me on Monday to discuss. Interestingly my Thyroid levels are all over the place as well.

You are still in the normal range and I would not be remotely concerned. Do, however, have routine PSA tests.

I agree with David. Keep up the PSA tests every six months and see if there is a change before considering anything to do. (Barney Gleason 9)
