RTKR 7 months ago, terrific back pain

Posted , 3 users are following.

7 months on and although I have a very good range of movement, my legs are very weak, still need to pull myself up with furniture,, have been experiencing severe low right side back pain, and soreness in left knee, I was on the list to have a lLTKR and wondering if back pain could be linked. Although my new replacement appeared to be a great success, I suffered cellulitis, post op depression and was rushed into hospital at 4 months post op with suspected pulmonary embolism, so you can see whtpy I may be reactant to go through this all again, any advice welcome 😥

TKR and PAIN. Question how do you control your TKR pain including back pain (low back pain)? My TKR profile: Bangkok-Johnnie 68 years. TKR op in Sweden 2014 with post-op infection now waiting for a Revision (new implant). The infected prosthesis I keep as s souvenir in a plastic bag. Pains & aches: Daily hip and right  (healthy) knee pain. My medication: Tramadol 50-75 mg  per day and half a gallon (500 ml ) strong coffee - no sugar. I  am off Gabapentin. Side effects; weird dreams and morning lethargy. Lmited exercise not much stamina. At least   “Ankle pump” 100 x per day.  More than that will result in throbbing pain. Best regards from Thailand Johnnie

Depression...can seem awfully real...just a Jedi Mind Trick...

A lot of people complain about "other pain" following a TKR.  It seems they have a lot in common...

I had a case of sciatica at 5 weeks because I was walking incorrectly and threw my hips out of alignment.  Need help standing up?  Your muscles are dead...quads, glutes, core, hip flexors and more.  You have to rebuild those muscles to take the pressure off the knee...

You cannot skip the muscle rebuild.  It help you walk correctly, regain your balance and enables you to climb stairs correctly...oh...and get out of a chair.
