anyone had problems with their scar not healing.
had plates and pins inserted on 16th November. All but two parts on the scar healed. Been today for change of dressing. Scar is still infected, really thought after taking a weeks antibiotics things would have improved. But no actually looks worse and more pus than has been. Absolutely gutted

Over four months now and scar still not healed. Over weekend looked worse than has done for a while. Have been having dressing changes done every week by nurse at doctors surgery and change of dressing inbetween by myself. Decided yesterday to ring consultant who saw me at his clinic in the afternoon.
He has said no infection but now thinks because leg ankle and leg swollen and skin so thin this is preventing it from healing.
His advice is for me not to walk too far!! So you told by physio to practice more walking and the consultant not too walk as much.
Came away with a iodine dressing on. Fingers crossed the old type remedies will work.
