Hi Margaret ,first of all their is lots of really good laddies that know lots more than I do on PMR ,but assure me if you do have PMR IT IS NOT IN YOUR HEAD ....... When I was first diagnosed with PMR I was in sooooo much excruciating pain ,and it took the doctors months to even consider what it was and eventually I sugested going to a rheumatologist ,after having seen him and blood tests it was confirmed ,then he started me on PRED ,and after a wee kiss my pain did lesser .so we all on here know what you are going through ,one off the laddies will be on here shortly to help you more and advice you lots better than I can ,sending get better wishes to you xx

Are you on prednisolone? Did this sensation start after you started taking pred? If so, you need to talk to your doctor about it.

yes i am on 7.5 prednisolone and i have only had this feeling since i went on it, i have told my doctor and she said next time she sees me i have to tell her if i still have it, which is the 23rd march when my appointment is due.

Then call her and tell her - it is obviously getting worse and it is also obviously upsetting you. I wouldn't leave it another 2 weeks.

my doctor is not there as she is on holiday, and the other doctors dont know my case, it wore off , and i am wondering if i have over done the walking.

They still have access to your notes and if it is something you should worry about when on pred they can tell you too.

But you do need to rest some and not go mad with the walking.

i do think that i have overdone it walking , i worry that i panic too much with this.

Hi Margaret, sorry to hear that you are having a rough time.  As Eileen suggested ring your doctor just to be on the safe side.  It can be scary at times, and I am sure each and every one of us has been scared at least once with this PMR/GCA.  Do get some reassurance from gp.       Regards   Pat

No it's not in your head . You are probably having an anxiety attac , because off all the meds your on . Don't fight this feeling you will put your body into a fight or flight situation have been there my self . Try to relax and take it as being another pain added to the load . Have read a book by Dr Clare Weeks it got me back to normal .make an appointment with you doc. Go in the garden if possible or read a book and accept these feeling as the norm . Unless my husband can see it I havnt got it so I know what a support they can be .😣👺you will feel better soon , specially once your doctor can reassure you , but it's important not to fight this horrible feeling as being tens makes it a whole lot worse .Sending you lots of love and good wishes it will go away

O Margaret I feel so sad that your hubby does'nt unterstand. you are not crazy every one of us has gone through the fear. It will get better. It is such a horrable desease no one knows unless they have gone through it. some days I just want to sick my head in a hole and  not come up but then I keep telling myself "Stop your damn complaining it could be worse." Keep the faith Margaret and you will feel better. In the meantime keep in touch with us on the site as it has helped me so much.
