I'm sorry for posting again. but I'm terrified 😢 I'm still waiting for my ultrasound on Monday but my anxiety is out of control.
my lymph nodes are still up and all of my googling makes it look like my igg level of 33.2 must be an old infection. I don't know what to do. I'm was under 10.0. my test was done after most symptoms had gone. just swollen lymph nodes which seemed to pop up after most other symptoms went.
I don't even know what my post is going to achieve I'm just so worried I can barely sleep or

Hi Sam,
I have been in exactly the same situation as you over the past 3 1/2 months - I've suffered from extreme health anxiety thinking it was lymphoma. My glands were up in my neck, they also felt as if they were up under my arms (aching armpits), and pelvis. I suffered from night sweats and weight loss. Every time I googled those symptoms lymhoma popped up.
But rest assured EBV/HHV6a/b/Adenovirus can cause very similar symptoms, and they are far more common. EBV affects 90% of humans, with 50% showing symptoms. HHV-6a/b similar numbers. Same with adenovirus. It is far far more likely to be viral. These viruses literally affect almost all of us at some point in our lives.
Lymphoma is very very rare by comparison. Especially amongst the young (sub 50 years old) - I think rates are around 0.003-0.006% (25-50 cases per 100,000 per year). It mainly affecting much older people, but even then it is still a relatively rare form of cancer.
I had an ultrasound last week, and the radiologist deemed the lymph nodes not worthy of biopsy - most people who undergo ultrasound have this outcome. Before the ultrasound I was convinced I had cancer.
I know this is a very anxious time, but take care. The odds are firmly on your side. You are going to be fine.

Thank you very much David. you are right. I had my ultrasound and I had the same result as you. I assume I have mono and it has been horrible. I'm sorry you've been through the health anxiety thing too. it's really scary and a horrible thing to experience. I am hoping you are doing better now x

I'm glad your ultrasound was ok - you must have felt a huge wave of relief. It's easy to say 'don't worry', but i can totally empathise with you. Early last week, before my ultrasound, I was sure I had lymphoma. This is a really scary virus with so many weird symptoms that potentially mimic more serious conditions. I'm feeling better today - I had some weird pain in my knuckles this week, as well as heart palpitations and pins and needs in my left arm, as well as some dizziness. My lymph nodes under my neck have been up and down. It seems to be subsiding now.
I hope you're felling better too. Take care.
