SCM muscle in Neck

Hello all,

Ive been suffering from dizziness(no spinning) for the last 3 months and Im really starting to think my neck is causing the issues because it is always tired/sore. I think it may be the scm muscle because most of my discomfort comes from the lower part of the head where the neck and head meet. Im just curious about anyone else that has had issues with their neck that caused these symptoms and if you can tell me your experiences with it hand how you fixed the problem.

My brother has 6 vertibre in his kneck that are compressed and degraded. He's never had vertigo or been dizzy. Mines fine. Have vertigo and dizzy every day. Lol. Wouldn't hurt to see a chiropractor.

I also have neck problems, but am not sure they were the initial cause. However I go for Bowen treatment now which address the nerve connection with muscles.

have a google on it and see if you think it applies,to you therapy wise.

Yes i have the same problemswith the neck/dizzines issue.  I've even been hospitalized for it once.  I went to therapy for my nexk and the ENT to get Epley manuvers. I take Motrin 3 times a day and take Pilates calss once a week.

Alright saw the ENT yesterday and he thinks I have vestibular neuritis. The one day when everything was spinning so bad about 3 months ago is when he suspects I got the virus in the ear or whatever. Right now I'm just dealing with the residual aftermath of the ordeal. He said it should correct itself within 3 to 6 months as the brain "recalibrates" so hopefully I'll get better sometime soon. I still plan on getting therapy for my neck because maybe that makes it worse also.

Hi, my problem started a month ago.. It was set off with a strong dizzy spell, not spinning more like a side to side head movement which left me very lightheaded and pain in the right side of my head. Went to the ER and they ran a CT and EKG thinking it may be a stroke but everything was normal.. Went to a neurologist who believes it's a vestibular migraine and prescribed me antidepressants which I do not want to take.. I'm trying to take a natural approach and have been trying to eat healthier no sugar and things that may trigger a migraine.. some days I felt okay but this past days have not been good.. a lot of pain at the base of my skull and the right side of my neck and head.. had a few dizzy spells after the first one but not as strong.. came across a few things that may cause this symptoms, like misalignment of my vision for which I have an appt tomorrow and also the muscle in the neck but need to find a doctor that is experienced with the scm muscle to see if it helps, will be going to an ENT doctor this week too.. feeling spaced out like walking with a fog, feeling disoriented all the time and can't even drive us really affecting my quality of life and now the pain that's not going away with painkillers it's frustrating.. I'm hoping this goes away soon or that a doctor finds something that it's treatable..
