Second period after menopause

Posted , 10 users are following.

I just started my period again...first time was in September. I had blood tests done that showed I was menopausal a year ago. Next week I will have an endometrial biopsy and it is stressing me. Have any of you ladies had an endometrial biopsy? Cancer is my biggest fear right now.

I had one done after my periods suddenly started to be very heavy. I went from having very regular and normal periods to suddenly very heavy and lasting all month long. My doctor sent me to a OBGYN specialist and he ordered an ultrasound and biopsy of my uterus and tests came back normal. I had a ablation and I spotted for a few weeks but then my periods stopped completely. I'm so happy not to be dealing with heavy periods again!

I had my biopsy yesterday. It went easier than I expected. Now the waiting game. With the holidays, it will be sometime next week.

Glad to hear it went well. Enjoy your holidays and try not (easier said than done!) to think about it too much.

Just got my results back and my biopsy was benign! If I have any more bleeding the want to talk about and IUD or ablation. So much relief.

    Hi Stephanie4693

I havent had a period for at least a year and a half and just last week Boom...there it was (the period) I was like WHAT..i went to the emergency room because i was not sure is it period or something else. they did tests, diagnosed with fibriods, which i knew i had. Mind you I just had gont to gyno last month had all tests done, pap, ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound, all was fine. I had a follow up appt the other day with gyno and recommended i have a endometrial biopsy. i myself am so nervous, because i know it will be painful, cancer is my biggest fear too, but this is what kind of makes me feel more at ease, the dr said....i can bet you $1,000 right now that you will be fine....i thought that was wierd to tell me...i guess because i just had tests done ...pap...etc...but they just want to be sure and rule C out. I pray i am ok!.

Update-- I had my second ultrasound yesterday. I am in menopause and have a new fibroid near my cervix. Dr is suggesting a total hysterectomy as fibroid growth after menopause is unusual. I'm so panicked right now. Cancer is so scary and I am afraid she will find cancerous tumors and not just fibroids.
