Seizure Fear

Hi All, I am back unfortunately. After numerous doctors visits and neurology appointments and yet still I come back to this forum. I still keep getting these deja vu experiences but what is more apparant now is that I am having these intense waves of fear wash over me which lasts a few seconds and it makes me feely very uneasy with a nervous feeling in stomach. My eyes lose focus and its like my vision goes darker and cloudy and I panic. I start to worry that this is seizures and from what I read it sounds just like temporal lobe seizures. I am so scared has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Hi,
I believe that we can over think things and googling makes it 100 times worse. Yeah I do be that that we can convince ourselves that we have an illness when we haven't. Only doctor's are qualified to diagnose correctly and you have had many tests so you should be reassured. So many symptoms are similar for so many illnesses, only tests such as the ones you have can differentiate. You must STOP googling. Be assured.
An example of what happened to me: I take a diuretic and an anxiety med Taking both together can cause hyponatremia (low sodium). I googled and convinced myself I had it. I had all the symptoms. I stopped my meds, like an idiot. Had bloods tests done and guess what, electrolytes all normal. So you see, we can overthink things. Stop googling now and think positive. If you are not on meds for anxiety learn to live with it and overcome it. Lots of advice here and online. If you decide to go on meds you have to expect that they won't kick in until 6-8 weeks.
Be kind to yourself now!

Yes but Jayn I understand not to google things but I would google them if these symptoms didn't physically happen. How is it possible that thinking of seizure symptoms could actually bring it on? That's why I am convinced it's epilepsy

Hi Jonathan,
I did not say that thinking of seizures would actually bring them on, I said I do believe we can convince ourselves that we have an illness when we haven't. I also said that only doctor's are qualified to diagnose correctly, big difference to how you have interpreted my previous post. Read it again.
If you are so convinced it is seizures then you really must speak to your doctor again. You seem to have convinced yourself that it is and you know your body better than anybody. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you.
I hope all turns out well.

Hi Haydn my apologies I didn't mean my message to sound like that. What I was saying is the doctors and neurologists have said they don't think it's seizures or epilepsy but I still continue to get these symptoms. I don't know what more to do I just need to know on here that is Deja vu normal? And can you experience weird vision and panic that lasts seconds with anxiety?

Hi Jonathan,
All of your symptoms can be linked to anxiety, even the de ja vu.
I'm not saying they are and I'm not saying they are not in your case. How I know? I just looked it up.
I would go back to your doctor and ask him to explain your test results for peace of mind, maybe discuss treatment for anxiety and request fortnightly appointments to check your progress for a while. Another thing I would do is get your eyes tested, a full eye examination.
I am not a doctor or professional of any kind.
I am just trying to help.
If you want me to send you a private message with the sources of this information I will do so.
Take care

I will definitely book an eye test and have been to GP and emailed the private neurologist recently who I went to see and he explained to me about seizures and he didn't feel what I was going through is that. I just read so much online about seizures and epilepsy and watched loads of YouTube videos of people having seizures and some of them describe the aura they get before a seizure and it matches identical to what I get. These auras have been going on years. If it was seizures or epilepsy is it not likely I would have collapsed by now?

i used to Google symptoms that much id spend most of the day on medical websites focusing on symptoms of diseases i might have. this made me feel a lot worse. dont do it because you will drive yourself insane. try some anxiety meds and see if they help . they could change your negative thought process. like i said before discuss all your previous tests with your doctor them discuss how bad these thoughts are effecting you. you cant go on like this bro, the goal is to change the way you think and start enjoying life again👍

I understand Darren but your symptoms seem different to mine. You might have anxiety as you don't get these episodes of intense fear making me feel really bad for a few seconds where my vision goes cloudy or hazy. I also get Deja vu a lot it can be of remembering a dream or just the exact thing look identical even tho it's a new situation. It happens more so with visual things like when I'm on my phone or computer. This has been going on years but much worse over the last 12 months. I think this is seizures isn't it?
