Semen comes out after peeing

Posted , 38 users are following.

Hi, I'm getting pretty concerned now, almost every time if not every time I go to urinate after I have finished urinating about 2-10 seconds later seamen comes out of my flaccid (soft) penis. It doesn't just come out by itself most times, most times it makes me feel the need to push a bit and then it comes out. It started a year or two ago and sometimes its not just a drop it can be a stream. It was very rare at the start 2 years ago, but now it's 8-15 times a day, depending on how much I go for a wee. I am single 40yo and have been single most of my life. I do masturbate about 3 -5 times a week and that has never changed. Even if I masturbate before I go to the toilet, it doesn't matter if i masturbate 1min before I go to toilet 30min or even 2 days I still feel the need to push after urinating and out comes the seamen from my flaccid penis. So regular masturbating or u irregular masturbating is not the cause. I do get erections when turned on (porn, pretty lady ect.) but can't remember for awhile getting an erection just for the sake of it like I used to years ago. I could wake up hard sometimes, but not as often as I used to, It may be cos I'm 40 and it may have nothing to do with problem, Sometimes (like now for instance as I'm writing this) I need to wee but I know I can feel seamen wanting to be pushed out as well. There is nothing I can think of that has changed in my life to effect me and cause this. Please should I be worried and could you please be brutality honest and give me a list of possible things that this could be. (Best case scenario and please also worst case scenario. I don't have a huge penis 5-6 inch and also when getting naked in front of doctor , most times get aroused whether male or female especially if they touch me down there, so I am not in a rush to see doctor because I get embarrassed. I will say I've had over the years unprotected sex.  This is why I'm asking you for advice and if anyone else has experienced this. I don't take drugs expect I'm on Endone for severe back pain. But this all started before taking the medication. As I said don't hold back please, best case scenario and very worst case scenario. Sorry for this being so long but I wanted to give you all of the information so we don't have to go back and forth to much.

Hello again everyone. I just had the cystoscopy a couple of hours ago. That is NOT a fun experience. I'll tell you what happened. I go in and they want a urine sample. I can feel the discharge ready and waiting to happen but I give them the sample and no discharge. I can feel it and am trying to relax and keep from having it. I go to the room, undress, lay back, and then comes the discharge that's been waiting to go. So now I have to ask them for a paper towel or something and the the guy who's assisting gives me some tissues. So I clean up but I can feel that it's not done yet. After the prep of the guy shooting in the lidocaine, or whichever 'caine it was, I'm really feeling the discharge trying to get out but it's clamped shut. Soon as the doctor releases the clamp it was released. As the scope went in (painfully still), on the monitor, we could see semen in the urethra. So there can be no doubt that it's a seminal discharge.

We finally (and very painfully) reach the bladder and look around. Nothing. I'm sorry to say, but there wasn't anything to explain what's going on. The urologist had a confused look on her face as she did a lot of looking around but she couldn't see any problem. Seeing that I had a discharge there just before and the semen in the urethra was clear proof that it's happening. It isn't a lack of ejaculation (she gave a short laugh and shook her head a little at that one). There was a little bit of semen in the bladder but it was most likely put there because of the scope collecting what was in the urethra and putting it there as it was just a little bit. So, in her opinion, it's not due to retrograde ejaculation either. It would come out with the urine not after it. She said, "I can see it's there, clearly. I just don't know how it's getting there." So, I've done the ultrasound, the MRI, and the cystoscopy. The last thing to try is an abdominal CT scan.

Sorry, guys. None of the urologists there (an A.R.N.P., 3 M.D.'s, and 3 M.D. F.A.C.S.'s are on the back side of one of the 4 hospitals here and with a second office at a medical center close to 2 more hospitals where they do most of their surgeries) have any idea what could be causing it. They've talked about it and if none of them know, I honestly don't know who would. I wish I had better news for you. If I ever find out what's causing it, I'll post it here for sure. If anyone else does, please post it. Take care. P.S. I apparently don't know how to make short posts. lol

thanks for your reply. I am also experiencing the same thing. I find that not ejaculating for a long time makes this happen more often. The longer i go without ejaculation, the worse it gets.

I do consider myself a person with very high libido. Maybe we should all get our testosterone and DHT levels checked to see if there is any correlation. We should also have our sperm count checked. I am surprised the doctors never recommended this. We could simply be highly virile males.

Actually, I had mine checked about a month ago and rechecked. My doctor has never seen results like mine before. Neither has anyone else in the clinic. My Total Testosterone level was a bit low but my Free Testosterone was "Abnormal - Above 100%". I saw an endocrinologist and they said to disregard the FT. I don't know about disregarding 2 tests but we'll see what happens. I don't know if the level has anything to do with it or not but more blood tests have been ordered. I just have to get them at the right time of day with the right circumstances. I have to wait until after I heal up from the surgery to remove my gallbladder. Apparently, an injury or sickness, and the time of day the test is taken, effects the results. I'll continue to try to keep with it and keep updating everybody when it's pertinent. See you later.

I think maybe you should choose a different endocrinologist. Any doctor telling you to ignore results is an idiot and does not know what he or she is doing. I myself plan to get my hormones tested too, and I will update whenever that happens.

If you total test is low but your free test is extremely high, it could be the protein that binds testosterone is also low (SHBG). If this is low, you will have more free bioavailable testosterone. However, this may be an issue because when you have a lot of free/active testosterone, it can be converted into estrogen, resulting in high estrogen levels. This is an issue many people who take anabolic steroids fall into: high free test = lots of muscle and sexual desire, but the side effect of things like gyno due to test to estrogen conversion.

What were your levels for SHBG and estrogen?

I highly suggest you find a different doctor.

Good luck with your gall bladder surgery. I hope you got a 2nd opinion on that too and are only removing it due to necessity/pain.

I was thinking about getting a second opinion. The endocrinologist said that it's difficult to test for free T and it's normally done wrong which is why you can't trust the results you get. I'm skeptical about that though. I've just gotten a new insurance and hopefully there's more of a selection of endocrinologists with it. Yes the bladder surgery went well. Thank you. We were doing it because I'd been really sick and in pain one day. Equal to the worst I've ever been in. Thankfully it only lasted a day but it wasn't pleasant. That's hopefully, the closest I'll ever get to the pain of childbirth if that's how bad it is.

The doctor figured it was probably gastroenteritis caused by the gallbladder. The doctor ordered an ultrasound and saw gallstones in there. The primary care provider's clinic called me up to let me know that they had seen the gallstones and had been in touch with a surgeon who would call me to discuss options. I had a meeting with him and we discussed the ultrasound results and the family history.

With that family history and me feeling really sick for that one day, they thought it would be a good idea to have it removed. My sister had to have hers removed years ago, then a couple of years later my mom had to have hers removed, and a bit over a year ago, my dad had to have his removed. Now it was my turn. It seems gall bladder issues runs in my family.  The surgery lasted longer than expected because when they got in there, they said it was inflamed which made some extra work for them to remove it. So it was a good thing that I had it removed when I did. Who knows how bad it would have gotten if I'd delayed for very long.

I didn't know that about the free T turning into estrogen. I wonder if that could be part of the reason a few of my illnesses are more commonly found in women than in men. Maybe that's also a reason why I get along with women better than I do men. lol I hope your hormone testing goes well. Hopefully you'll just be like the average guy in that regard. Let us know how it goes.

Lol.... I noticed... Thank you a lot for all these.... It's been really helpful I guess...and nerve easing.... I had to register to this platform so I could appreciate your endless effort of carrying us all along.... I'm 22... Never had even a BJ talk less of sex... It made me worry a great deal when I started experiencing this as to if it'd affect me in the future ( in regards to raising a family when the time comes)... Reading all you've posted so far and your experience with the doctor has given a sort of assurance that I'm not infected....

P.s.... Your long posts are not really that long because every phrase in it is sensible....

Thank you. I hope that our experiences here has eased your mind. So far for all of us, there hasn't been anything that's damaging to our systems, it's just extremely annoying and sometimes painful. It's not something that's easy to talk about with doctors, but it's necessary so that they know. That way, if anything does change and does become damaging down the road, they'll already know about it and be able to understand when we say something about it getting worse or whatever. Also, this will let the doctor know up front, if we find we have a different issue, that it isn't a symptom of that other issue. They'll be able to skip that and move on with the real symptoms of whatever's ailing us. Again, from all of the posts in here and my personal experiences, this discharge will have no effect on your reproductive capability whenever you decide you want children. Keep this thread set to let you know when new messages are posted so that if someone does come up with the cause, you won't miss out on it. Take care.

Hey bud, i see this was posted 4 years ago when you were 22 witch makes you just a year younger than myself. i just started to have this same issue as everyone else on here after urinating and the other coming out. needless to say it was and still is worrying me, like i said it just started about maybe 2 weeks ago for me. Now with all that being said the reason im reaching out to you is that we are the same age and its been 4 years since you started to have the same issue and i just wanted to know what came of it for you, and did you find a reason or have any other problems involving or surrounding the initial concern we all seem to be dealing with? i know you posted this years ago so i understand this is a long shot but if you are able to help me with any info, tips or even your experience i would be extremely grateful. Thank you sir and i hope all is well with you.

Guys i am 23 now i too had this problem for the past 2 years will this affect my fertility? Or i can have a child even with this problem?

As long as you also emit semen while still erect then presumably there will be sufficient spermatozoa deposited in your partner’s vagina after you climax for conception to take place. After all, men produce millions every day.

I have this problem too!  I am 31, and its been happening for maybe a year or two. I cant remember exactly how long.  But over time its getting worse, as in it happens more frequently, larger amounts and at times while just sitting, or during a bowel movement.  Once it happened while standing at a urinal.

I have a background in medicine and have done extensive research.  Its not a heavily researched area, so information is limited.  Probably due to the embarrassing nature and the limited amount of patients who confide in their doctors about it.  I think I found more information from the anecdotes on this forum then from all the research I have done on published sites.  I am thinking that it's linked somehow to medication.  I too am on adderall daily.  And the symptoms may have started before or around the time I started the medication, but unfortunately I really cant remember.  Also, I cant stop the adderall so if thats the reason I am SOL.  I dont think the adderall can be or is the sole reason, maybe just an agonist to an underlying condition.

The issue is more embarrassing then anything else.  It causes no effect on ejaculation during sex, or volume of ejaculate, and we recently became pregnant, so I know I am still fertile.  It took a year of trying to become pregnant, so that is either normal, or there may be a factor playing on fertility.  I cant say one way or the other.

I see that this was posted 6 years ago so im hoping someone will see this and maybe be able to help me with info and tips as well. I have just recently started to have this same exact problem but it really worries me as im only 27 years old. Now i know thats not all that young and health issues can arise to anyone at any age but its still understandably worrying me. Its not every time that i urinate but id say its a few times a week give or take. I masturbate anywhere from 2 to 4 times a week (if that has any relevance). Now a big thing i have to note for the sake of seeking proper information is that i am unfortunately addicted to opiates. More specifically pain pills. Yes that is and most likely my biggest problem involving health and my well being in general. That being said i wanted to know if that may have something to do with this issue of mine. The idea of being 27 and having prostate problem is very scary to me. Id love to just go to a doctor but i have no insurance. I could pay out of pocket for a Doctor visit but as anyone in the beautiful USA know, thats a bit pricey. Now of course if im told or feel like its something serious i will pay to do that. Cant put a price of health. And yes im aware thats funny coming from an addict but we all got problem and im working very hard on that one. But anyway, if anyone could please give me any kind of advice or feedback id very much appreciate it. Particularly since all these comments and questions are years old. Thank you and sorry for the overly long question.
