Semen comes out after peeing

Hi, I'm getting pretty concerned now, almost every time if not every time I go to urinate after I have finished urinating about 2-10 seconds later seamen comes out of my flaccid (soft) penis. It doesn't just come out by itself most times, most times it makes me feel the need to push a bit and then it comes out. It started a year or two ago and sometimes its not just a drop it can be a stream. It was very rare at the start 2 years ago, but now it's 8-15 times a day, depending on how much I go for a wee. I am single 40yo and have been single most of my life. I do masturbate about 3 -5 times a week and that has never changed. Even if I masturbate before I go to the toilet, it doesn't matter if i masturbate 1min before I go to toilet 30min or even 2 days I still feel the need to push after urinating and out comes the seamen from my flaccid penis. So regular masturbating or u irregular masturbating is not the cause. I do get erections when turned on (porn, pretty lady ect.) but can't remember for awhile getting an erection just for the sake of it like I used to years ago. I could wake up hard sometimes, but not as often as I used to, It may be cos I'm 40 and it may have nothing to do with problem, Sometimes (like now for instance as I'm writing this) I need to wee but I know I can feel seamen wanting to be pushed out as well. There is nothing I can think of that has changed in my life to effect me and cause this. Please should I be worried and could you please be brutality honest and give me a list of possible things that this could be. (Best case scenario and please also worst case scenario. I don't have a huge penis 5-6 inch and also when getting naked in front of doctor , most times get aroused whether male or female especially if they touch me down there, so I am not in a rush to see doctor because I get embarrassed. I will say I've had over the years unprotected sex. This is why I'm asking you for advice and if anyone else has experienced this. I don't take drugs expect I'm on Endone for severe back pain. But this all started before taking the medication. As I said don't hold back please, best case scenario and very worst case scenario. Sorry for this being so long but I wanted to give you all of the information so we don't have to go back and forth to much.

Having similar concerns like others have mentioned. 33yro and started noticing this about 6 months ago. Currently I experience the discharge while sitting on the toilet for a bowel movement. I will urinate and just as I feel like I'm done, it feels like one last small rush of urine is there. So I push a bit and out comes a small amount of discharge. Probably 4-5 drops worth. As I sit for a few minutes, like some of us like to do, I will feel the urge to urinate again. But it doesn't feel like a full bladders worth, almost like that last push urine to clear the pipes, but out comes another 5-6 drops of discharge. Lately, over the last 3-4 weeks I've been experiencing a dull pain that seems to be coming from the upper side of my right testicle and travels upward, not quite into my stomach. It almost feel like pressure at times but is mildly painful. The sensation comes and goes. It can slowly start at any time if the day and will usually last the rest of the day. Usually feeling normal again the next morning. Can go 2-5 days without feeling it but have also had it go 2 days straight. I live in Ontario and currently without a family doctor. The dull pain is what's concerning me the most so I will likely go to the walk-in clinic and ask for a referral to a urologist. From other websites I've been reading, seems like others are experiencing similar concerns. I will update this site when I go and hopefully have some decent answers as to what is causing this.

Hi. I don't think you have anything to worry about. From what my urologist said, often men will have a small discharge of semen during a bowel movement, especially if there's a little constipation. From what he said, it's due to the feces passing the prostate which puts pressure on it and causes it to release a slight amount of semen. DB99's issue is more along the lines of the beginning of a problem. If it gets worse and you start dripping quite a few drops and/or you feel the urge to urinate even though you've just emptied your bladder, then that's the sign of what's the issue. For me it started that way -dripping much longer then previously at the end of a bowel movement- until quite a few months later I started getting the feeling of not being finished after urinating. Then a little pressure and out came the drops of semen even without the bowel movement. For now, no need to worry imo. It's just a guy thing. If no one has any objection, I think I'm going to give my PCP and/or my Urologist the address for this forum. If they do check this stream out, it might give them an idea from the different experiences of what could be happening. Or at least they'll know that it isn't just an issue only their patient deals with. We're so spread out, the doctors probably think we're a unique case. We'll see. Anyways. Good for you fouad97 for remaining a virgin. You'll always remember the first time, so make it someone whom you will want to remember. Have a good life since imo, you have nothing to worry about.

I've always worried that would happen to me too. I just pee in a private stall now so people don't know what's going on. Sorry that happened to you.

Wouldn't men who have posted here with this problem have noticed having dry orgasms, though?

Sorry, but that's not the issue I've been dealing with. Ejaculations are normal for me and I can have ejaculated, urinated a few times throughout the day, and then have the discharge of semen. (it is semen according to my urologist) If it was retrograde ejaculation, the semen wouldn't be coming out at the end of urinating as it would be lower in the bladder having settled to the bottom. It would be mixed in with the urine if nothing else, not an addition at the end of it and a gradual discharge over time after finishing urinating. There also shouldn't be any pain associated with that type of discharge as it would have already gone up into the bladder and would just be urinated out like the rest of your waste. Any pain if there was any, would be had during the ejaculation. I'm still waiting on the cystoscopy to hopefully find out what's going on. I will make sure to pass along any findings.

Yea I agree with Drewy1212. I don't have retro, but I get clear prostate fluid coming out after urinating. My PSA is super low so I doubt I have prostate cancer. In my case I have always had Inflammatory Bowel disease that has been causing my rectum to be enlarged and painful. I think it is pressing on my prostate as the prostate is located very close to a man's rectum. It is the only thing that explains it in my case as this only seems to happen to me when I have a flare of the disease.

Hello,
I too have had this occurring on and off over the past 10 years. My doctor and I have linked it to an over stimulated prostate from excessive caffeine consumption. A night of Red Bull and Vodka's will have me dripping as you experienced the following day or two. So I stopped drinking all energy drinks. Now it occurs only with excessive coffee/espresso and usually if I haven't had a release in over a week.
Hope this helps.

Yo so this just in last 2 weeks started happening to me and today for first time I had to see what was causing it and yes it is semen coming out.
Ok so 2 theories because I'm very councious about what I eat and medications. So 1st theory just started taking allergy medication same time lines says it causes restlessness, have not been sleeping well.
2nd all three times it happened I had been drinking too much coffee and not enough water and the last time was after a night of little water and 2 red bulls.
So my conclusion is caffeine consumption is linked....allergy medicines maybe as well???

I think you guys might be on to something. For me I think it's a combo of my 3 shots of espresso I get everyday, not drinking enough water and not ejaculating enough which my doctor told me to do more of. I also believe it might be a mental thing. I've always seemed to have pre-ejaculate way before sex than I would think is normal.

I'm glad you've come up with a plausible reason for your discharge. Hopefully this will take care of the issue for you. Unfortunately, it can't be the cause of mine. I very, very rarely drink caffeinated drinks and when I have had a cup of coffee or a can of pop, it doesn't effect it. I take Adderall on an as needed basis with Wellbutrin as the daily med. This occurred for me before I started either of these medications, though. It's good that you found out what's causing yours. It does mean that it can be caused by more than one problem and that your discharge is caused by environmental triggers and not so much genetic ones. That'll make it easier for you to control and/or minimize the symptoms. I wish you all the luck.

Thank you. Although it helps my discharge it still doesn't get rid of it altogether. I still wrap toilet paper around my penis to capture any discharge to prevent it from messing up my underwear. It had been working OK until this morning. Most of the time the toilet paper will stick to the tip of the urethra. Normally it will come off OK but this morning it stuck pretty good when I tried peeling it off and made a cut at my "pee hole" which started bleeding. Now I got to worry about blood and semen discharge randomly coming out. Any other ideas of how not to get discharge in my underwear as my toilet paper wrapping method is starting not to work?

I'm sorry you are having such difficulty. I know it's not fun. I was thinking that there are a couple of things that might work but one of them has just come to me and may be the best for you. The first thing I was thinking was about using maybe a smooth absorbent cloth that you can get to stay on through the day. Or maybe a bit of paper towel. When time comes to take it off, you can just dampen the cloth or towel to, hopefully make it a little easier to get off. The thing that just came to me was because of your comment. Thank you. You said you have just been able to get your wife pregnant. CONGRATULATIONS on your 'bundle of joy' - and 'bundle of stress' before and after your baby's birth. But don't worry. The stress will be something that you will gladly take for your child. Congrats again. So after you said that, it came to me that maybe you could wear a condom when you are going to be out where you can't do anything to take care of it. It would likely take a bit to get used to it and at least somewhat comfortable but it would catch any discharge without you having to worry about it possibly leaking through, it would likely be easier to keep on. If, for example, it doesn't want to stay on, you could use a bandaid or cloth or other type of medical tape to make sure it stays. If you worry about it possibly running back and leaking down the side, you could put a bit of toilet paper or paper towel in the space in the end of it. You aren't going to be using that space for anything for that time anyways. That toilet paper and/or piece of paper towel will be able to take it's time absorbing the discharge and keep it out of your way while you do what you are needing to do. To go the bathroom, you will just need to pull the little bit of tape off of your penis, and then pull off the condom. You then can either keep a spare condom with you to replace the one you took off for you to urinate or take out the toilet paper or paper towel, and if you are alone in the bathroom you could wash it out and then replace the paper piece, roll it on and go about your day. Actually, having it a little damp on the inside might help it stay on your penis all day. Hopefully this gave you at least a little bit of suggestions worth using. Let us know if any of them work, if you could. Guess you'll be our test subject. lol I hope one of the ideas will work for you or at least trigger a better idea. Take care and I wish you a dry day.

I just wanted to give you an update. I discussed the issue about discomfort with my dermatologist and mentioned about the issue of having solutions like the toilet paper being used. My dermatologist stated that due to the moisture in the area, irritation can definitely be an issue. They said that using a petroleum jelly item could possibly help reduce that irritation as it would provide a protective layer. They suggested, in the case of what you mentioned about the toilet paper sticking to the glans tip, that using the petroleum jelly and making a thin layer on the glans near the urethral opening would help any toilet paper (or any other material used instead) to be removed without causing any damage to the skin of the sensitive area. They also suggested that it would be easy to replace any of it that gets removed throughout the day through activity by using a petroleum based lip protectant, such as a lip balm, to replace the layer of petroleum jelly protective layer. This kind of item is small enough to be able to be kept in a pocket throughout the day without being bothersome and can be applied quickly and without mess. It was such a good idea (and I was surprised none of us thought of such a simple solution) that I wanted to make sure that I passed it on. Hopefully, this will help anyone with a similar problem of handling the results of this health problem. I hope this helps. I'm not giving up on finding a reason and/or solution to this issue and will be sure to update here, if I find one. Take care guys.
