Still taking Zoloft and have never felt better in my life. It's an amazing drug!

Hi thanks for your reply ive only been on it 3 weeks how long does it take to see a good improvement for anxiety??? What dose are you on?? Thanks

I'm on 75mg. It takes me 4 weeks to see true improvement. Whenever I've upped my dosage, I always seem to wake up one morning around that 4th week and everything just feels better. Can't guarantee that for everyone, but it works that way for me.

Hi thanks for your reply joe. Im on 100 now. Only been on that dose for a day i have been on it 3 weeks and 3 days i actually had an ok day yesterday was alot less anxious. The mornings are the worst. Did you start sleeping better? Im scared the anxiety is never going to go away.

It will go away! You just have to find the right dosage for you and give it time. I sleep great now smile

How long have you've been taking Zoloft and what dose did you start with and now on? I'm on 50 mg for anxiety and that's been my dose for 4 weeks now and my anxiety has come back the past few days. I don't know if I'll need an increase but I was really hoping I could stay at 50

I've been on Zoloft for 8 weeks total but 4 weeks on 50 mg

I had hoped to stay at 50 mg too, but it just wasn't enough. 75 mg seems to be my sweet spot. How are you doing now?

Why would you want to stay on 50 I had to slowly increase to 200 and now in a better place good luck

Actually I'm doing pretty good. I'm at 62.5 mg right now, may bump it up to 75 soon but my anxiety is at about 80-90% better. I just struggle with sleep. Don't know what I need to do to get it back. Really don't want to switch meds since it's helping my anxiety. Just frustrated about my sleep not returning. Any suggestions on when that may improve for me. I know everyone is different.

I don't want to go higher if my anxiety has improved at my current dose of 62.5. I'm about 80-90% better with anxiety. I may bump it up to 75 soon but just haven't yet. Struggle with sleep at night so not sure which step to take to get it to improve.

Did you have insomnia when u started Zoloft, just wish my sleep would return.

hi, i just wondered what symptoms did you have for anxiety?
    • Posted

Tingling in arms and fingers. In severe cases it would work its way up behind my ears and meh hands would clamp completely shut. Racing heart. Feeling like I'm having a heart attack/dying. All out feeling of not being in control and complete panic in certain situations.

how are you feeling now? and how long did it take for you to notice a decline in symptoms?

i have horrible anxiety too, ive been put onto mitazapine antidepressant but i dont really see much difference with it.. ive been on it for 3 months now

I feel great now. It took me 2-3 months to really notice anything. I've been on it for 2 years now and my life is completely different. I haven't had a panic attack in well over a year and feel amazing 90% of the time. You've got to give these drugs time to do what they're supposed to do, but talk to your doctor if mitazapine isn't working for you. I had to try a couple different ones until I found the right drug and the right dosage.

im really pleased you are doing well...  i keep reading the same posts over and over thinking why am i not getting better.

my search for an anti depressant will continue... i keep thinking that my anxiety is due to faulty gaba receptors in my brain

      Hi trudy63745

I noticed you posted 7months ago, I was just wondering how are you doing now? I’m into my 4th week on sertraline felt amazing in week 3 but week 4 I’m having really bad anxiety again and feeling sick, mostly in the mornings  I was wondering if you had this feeling? And if so when does it pass 😔? Would really appreciate some advice.

      Hey Leo,

I know you asked Trudy, but just wanted to chime in and say it does get better. It's a complex drug and you've got to give your body time to adapt. You'll have some great weeks followed by some not-so great days. I've been on Setraline for over two years, and although I feel great 99% of the time, there's still mornings/days/weeks where I just get into a bit of a funk. It always passes though. Hang tight. You're life is going to get so much better!

Hi joe, thank you so much for your reply, I’ve spent hours on this sight hoping to find some positive things. So nice to hear that you are better and I’m glad that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I’m only on 50mg a day and have been for 4weeks not sure weather or not I should up my dose, I suffered so bad with the side effects in the 1st 2 weeks that it’s putting me off upping my dose, I’m scared that I’ll get all the side effects again 😔

I was on 50mg for a long time and dealt with the terrible side effects too. I eventually upped my dose to 75mg and that seems to be my sweet spot.  I wish I could tell you that the side effects won't happen when upping again, but they did for me. Although it was tough, scary, and sometimes debilitating dealing with the side effects, I would 100% go through it again to feel how I do today. When side effects got really bad, I always knew I could take some Lorazepam (Ativan) if needed. My doctors even said it's fine to have a few drinks on this medication, so having a beer always seemed to calm my anxiety when things were really rough. Hops in beer are natural muscle relaxers, so that combined with the alcohol taking the "edge off" helped me.

Please don't think I'm suggesting that alcohol is the answer to all your problems, but it was one tool in my tool belt that got me through the worst of it. I'm sure I'll get responses saying that it's terrible advice, but I'm not afraid to share my experiences and tricks with others if it could help them too. Needless to say, overconsumption of alcohol can definitely make things a lot worse.

Yeah of course I totally understand and at there’s nothing wrong with having a couple of beers you can’t punish yourself and stop doing everything you like, the anxiety is just taking over at the minute I’m seeing the doctor again next week so I will talk to her about upping my dosage, bit scared for the side effects but if it makes me feel better in the long run then I’ll try anything!! So when would you say you started to feel back to yourself again?

It's hard to say exactly when, but probably around the 12 week mark I felt like a blanket had been lifted off of me and I was enjoying life again.

Hey leo. Im doing great now im back at work living life. It took me about 3 months to really start feeling good i thought i was never going to get better but it really does i promise theres a light at the end of the tunnel. My side effects from zoloft took about 8-12 weeks to go away. Its just why the meds are settling in your system. I know i need zoloft i will prob be on it for ever but im ok with that cause 7 months ago i truly thought my life was over cause of anxiety so please believe me when i say it really does get better xxxxxxxx
