SERTRALINE - start up effects

Day 7 and feeling very nauseaus , no appetite, anxiety and I would like to give this med a fair shot as there are some good stories out there. I am on 25 mg the lowest dose as I am very sensitive to antidepressants. Anyone can give me any positive thoughts to hang in there? is this a normal start up? thanks!

It does get better! I had lots of side effects as well. Upped my dose to 75 4 days ago and so far the side effects aren't as bad. It just takes time to level out in your system! You got this and hang in there!

  I have been on it about 4 weeks. Started at 25mg for 6 days then went to 50mgs and I felt better but great! I just started 75mg 4 days ago. Just a little dizzy from it but other then that not bad. It all takes time!

  Good to know. I'm just a few days ahead of you. I go to doctor next week. Maybe she will increase my dose now that my body has accepted the med. First few weeks were rough!

Yes, the first 2-3 weeks are rough. I like that my doctor is only going up by 25mg due to the side effects that can happen when you up your dose. It is trial and error with the dosage. I think the end result will be amazing.

  So I went to psychiatrist today and she upped me to 50mg. Also told me that the crumbs of klonopin I had been taking are really not beneficial and to take more klonopin as well. when the sertraline kicks in a theraputical dose I should not need the klonopin anymore. so I am going to take her advise and do so. how are you doing?

  Glad things went well at your doctors. I am going to my doctor’s review tomorrow and I am a little nervous. I will let you know how it goes.

  yes, let me know. I knew she would up my dose. I told her I wasn't really any better or any worse. maybe a teeny bit better - as I have noticed I don't cry everyday anymore. we'll see.

Hi Connie! I hope that works for You! I noticed side effects were alot less noticeable going up in dosage. What is the theraptical amount in your system i get confused with that.
I am feeling good not 100% but I am able to go shopping again and also don't think that every pain that I get I am dying. I feel like I am about 70% there.

  well 25 mg is actually like a childs dose. but I am sensitive to meds so I took 25 mg for 5 weeks. lets see how 50 goes. yes I feel every pain I am dying too. I always have headaches - I have one now - I have already googled headaches vs brain tumor. ugh . are you still on 75 mg? did you feel the difference between 25 and 50?

I felt a little difference but not like I can on the 75mg. I am on day 7 of 75mg. I have stopped googling my pains that I get that gives me more anxiety and we don't need that. I hope that the 50 works for you. Like I said I noticed a difference but not like myself but everyone is different.
