Sever hearing loss on both ears because of Menieres

can Meniere affect first the one ear and then the other one?

    Yes it can I've had it in both ears for about 20 years now I hope you are OK

      oh my. This scares me. Have you tried the intra-tympanic shots?

      Yes I have but everyone is different I've had this for 43 years they always told me it would get worse

      To be honest they have told me the hearing I've lost I will never get back I'm back at the hospital next month not sure what the next step is to be honest I'm on tablets and diuretics have been for years but technology is changing all the time so none of us should give up x

      Cochlear implant is definetly something to look into for hearing loss..I had surgery for my worse ear 2 months ago and it has changed my life in regards to my hearing loss ..see an ENT who is a specialist in this

      That’s great news. Did you have to pay for it yourself?  I had 50% hearing loss both sides before this started so I’m concerned about further loss.

      Insurance covered it but you have t o meet certain criteria for hearing loss before you qualify I had only  10-20%word and sentence discrimination in quiet with my hearing aides ..Medicare will cover under 40% and most insurances follow Medicare guidelines
