Severe dizziness and feeling off balance. Need advice..

Hi, I'm new here and decided to join after googling severe and chronic dizziness and it brought me here and I saw there was some very good advice.
Back in May last year I started having little dizzy spells that would last a few seconds at a time and it would happen several times a day. I saw my GP who just said it was probably due to my anxiety I was suffering with at the time. It kept getting worse over the next week and I started to feel off balance. I returned to my GP who gave me the Epley Maneuver and I felt it helped a tiny bit and was told to repeat it at home to get full benefit as it can take a few goes to work properly. Well it didn't help at all.
A few days later I was in my local town with my partner and while holding onto him as I was feeling off balance my hearing went for about 15 seconds and I felt dizzy. I visited my GP who checked me over and said we would keep an eye on it.
Fast forward 2 months-
I had got rid of my anxiety without meds but with a lot of intense CBT and talking to a nhs let's talk nurse every week on the phone.
And I'm happily pregnant again.
Dizziness and feeling off balance still happening.
It would come in bouts and it will be so severe I would have to lie down as I felt at times I could pass out then it would either die off completely or manageable so I could live normally.
Kept seeing my GP and was told as I was pregnant there was nothing they could do and it was probably pregnancy related even though it started before I fell pregnant and if after having my baby it was still there they would look into it.
2 weeks after having my baby I saw my GP and was told to wait until my 6wk check up and we would discus it then as my hormones would be settled by then.
At my 6wk check up we discussed it and was told to wait until I've had a few periods so we know for sure my hormone levels are back to normal.
My baby is now 4months old and it's still happening.
5wks ago I was out in town again and mentioned to my partner I was feeling a bit dizzy then I suddenly felt faint and my dizziness felt a bit worse. Since then I saw a different GP for my dizziness and also for chronic pain I get. She sent me for a load of blood tests to rule other conditions out and she would refer me for my dizziness. Everything came back fine except my ferritin and folate levels were low so now on meds for both which is horrible as I have a medication phobia!
Also my b12 levels were on the low end of their range but told this was fine (mine were 200 and their range is 180-1000).
So at our follow up appointment she prescribed me Cinnarizine for the dizziness and said after my next blood test in 3months time if I'm still getting dizziness she would refer me.
Last week I was so down because of being stuck indoors for 5wks and I want to enjoy days out with my 5 children but can't.
I phoned my GP again and told her I'm so fed up and I need it sorted so she's agreed to see me tomorrow morning. She wants to check me over and then decide who to refer me to and she suggested trying the Cinnarizine.
I've had a cold/virus that started Tuesday night and by Wednesday I could hardly move as I was so poorly and my muscles and joints ached and on Friday my dizziness and off balance came on a lot worse.
Also noticed that my first bout of dizziness started after the same cold/virus.
People have suggested this all sounds like Labyrinthitis..
I do have a fullness in my ears, my partner says my hearing isn't the best but that's only if someone talks really really quietly but it's always been this way.
My ears randomly pop often, I have ringing in my ears often and months back when it all started I would get a whooshing sound in my ears that lasted 10-20 seconds.
The worst thing is this has all started my anxiety up over this weekend 😔
I just know my GP will make the excuse of it being my anxiety if I tell her how anxious I have been this weekend and how down its made me.
I've been free from anxiety for nearly a year and the feeling of it returning is very distressing.
My other health conditions are Asthma and migraines.
I have suffered with migraines for around 12yrs. This past year they haven't been as often or lasted as long as they used to.
Sorry for the long essay.. I just need to get it all out.
Thanks, Kim.

Hi kim have you seen a ENT? I had a vamp test done wear they put warm water in your ears to see if you go dizzy they said it not my ears whats causing the problem they was okay no ear loss. I had a MRI scan come back clear. Do this see what happens? ENt do the test on me he said march on the spot with your eyes closed with your arms out straight count to 40 when l opened my eyes i turned to the left you should stop in the centre he said I've got a weak balance. They sent me for vestibular exercises they did help a the beginning. I feel more more dizzy feel of balance when I am out side all in supermarkets when i stand on the spot i feel like I'm swaying it worse when I close my eyes. I seen a specialist he told me its stress and anxiety what's causing the problem he was right x

No seen anyone except my normal GP. Hoping she'll refer me tomorrow.
Does yours happen when you're not feeling stressed or anxious and have you found a way of stopping it? x

I'm going to ask my GP to re-refer me back to my therapist tomorrow as I don't want my anxiety back again.
I have stress sometimes and I did suggest to my partner I was wondering if it's stress. I haven't felt anxious in a long time until this weekend. Would love for there to be a miracle cure!

Hi Kim, get your GP to refer you to an ENT. It sounds like an inner ear condition 100% and there are tests they can do to determine exactly what's going on

Thank you for your reply.. I really don't believe it's to do with my anxiety as it's the dizziness that has started me to feel anxious again.
Loud noise can bring it on a lot worse and busy fast pace places.
I've been anxious a bit this weekend due to the dizziness and my dizziness hasn't got worse because of it nor has it been so severe. I really do hope I get a referral tomorrow.
Anyone used Cinnarizine? If so any side effects?

Totally know what you're going through - I was having trouble even going to the supermarket because it would make it so much worse. Just tell your GP you want a referral and don't let him/her decide whether they want to give you one. If you say you want one they should give it to you.
When this problem first started happening to me all the doctors tried to tell me it was anxiety related but I knew it wasn't. The anxiety is because of the diziness. I am now on lexapro to help control the anxiety from all this.
I was prescribed Serc for the diziness so maybe suggest this to ENT when you see them. I think it's helping
Good luck

Have seen my GP today and finally at long last I have my ENT referral 🙌🏻
I told her how I was feeling with my anxiety creeping back in and feeling down and she said as I got this virus, the dizziness and lots going on at the moment it's probably triggered a relapse but it'll all be okay

Did yours last as long like mine?My mother has that and when I describe my symptoms to her she said it sounds the same but about 11months ago a doctor said it definitely wasn't that 🤔
Problem I have is the dizziness makes me edgy and this weekend has made me very anxious but then I feel worse dizzy wise as I'm anxious on top 😤
What treatment did you receive and did it work?

Also when reading up on menieres it says the dizziness only lasts for short bursts or is this not true? As when my mum has it, it's constant and she's given medication straight away and rests for a week.

Dizzyness and off balance can last for months. I have been off balance for six months now after a vertigo attack. Please go to the "ENT and have them do balance test, hearing test as well. Ringing, buzzing, swooshing sounds in the ear are very much meaniers. Especially fullness in the ears. I went for years with anxiety and thinking I was going crazy it was meaniers all the time. Go to the comments on meaniers here on this site you will get valuable information on what others are going through with meaniers. Keep me posted
