Severe groin pain pre-op

Hi all. For a few months I've had severe groin pain right n left but much worse in the left. I had probs on standing and had to lock my hip back into place before I could walk. Then I'd get a short sharp pain on turning and walking all of a sudden out of the blue so had hip steroid inj but pain in groin still there 9 days later. Thing is my consultant wants me to have THR right hip. I've severe arthritis. I'm worried if I have it then how will I cope with the left groin pain as the inj doesn't seem to have worked it may be the pain is coming from elsewhere. I also have bulging discs back L4/L5 and SI joint sacroilitis. I'm very restricted as to what I can do and am almost housebound. Ive had inj in the back and they have worked for a couple of months bit thats it. Due to see Consultant in 5 weeks. Any advice please?

I remember well the shock I felt at the state of my

body after being so fit. The problems were there,

but it was a physio who pressed my body at a point

where I got excruciating pain. She didn't cause my

problem but she was the catalyst!

your hips help to support your back, the spinal injections

did not help my pain.Go with your consultant's advice if

he is offering you the hip operation. You have pain and loss

    of mobility which are indicators.
