Severe reaction reintroducing citlopram

Started 12 month tapering of the nasty citlopram from 20mgs to 0.25 and noticed severe withdrawel symptoms after 3 weeks so i reintroduced 2.5 then 5mg for 2 weeks then went to 10mgs after 4 weeks. i noticed severe insomnia so went back down to 5mgs for the last 3 days BUT had a crazy severe reaction last night with similar to that of withdrawal symptoms but 2.0 couldn’t sleep/ super tight chest/ had sudden body shivers racing minds worse then withdrawal symptoms...can anyone think from experience what’s going on?
Am I have reinstating issues with after I pushed up the dose too quickly to 10mg
And messed about with doses on already sensitive central nervous system?
Is it serotonin syndrome?
Is it potentially have a reactive issue with the drug is saying it ain’t for me anymore?
What are your thoughts guys?

what was your tapering schedule from 20mg? Did you go from 20 to 2.5 eithin 3 weeks? If so, that is the problem

sorry will add more detail.. i took 0.5 for 2 weeks after withdrawels and then upped it to 0.8mg for 7 days (felt ok but odd days of high anxiety and then over this weekend noticed tight chest so the last 3 days went back down to 0.5mg...and thats when bam on second day noticed severe withdrawel symtoms?!
i took 0.5mg again today and nothing feel rubbish. surly makes sense to go back up to the 0.8mg hopefully will knock the symtems on the head?
yes i know i have been a rookie about all this.

wow did you cold turkey? yeh citlopram is a powerfull beast. i think once you hit anymore then 1 year mark its grabbed your CNS and it takes ages to readjust and got off.

no unfortunately im only down to 6mg! be careful swapping to liquid as its more potent than the tablet form.

i was on 10mg tablet cut it in half, didnt wait long enough to settle went to 4mg liquid, felt bad really bad docs said updose slightly so i went to 6mg it made me worse, took a year to settle somewhat then i got a faulty bottle and different brand the dropper was faulty so ended up doubling my dose for 4 days and its going to take me a year to settle on this!
