Severe reaction reintroducing citlopram

Started 12 month tapering of the nasty citlopram from 20mgs to 0.25 and noticed severe withdrawel symptoms after 3 weeks so i reintroduced 2.5 then 5mg for 2 weeks then went to 10mgs after 4 weeks. i noticed severe insomnia so went back down to 5mgs for the last 3 days BUT had a crazy severe reaction last night with similar to that of withdrawal symptoms but 2.0 couldn’t sleep/ super tight chest/ had sudden body shivers racing minds worse then withdrawal symptoms...can anyone think from experience what’s going on?

Am I have reinstating issues with after I pushed up the dose too quickly to 10mg

And messed about with doses on already sensitive central nervous system?

Is it serotonin syndrome?

Is it potentially have a reactive issue with the drug is saying it ain’t for me anymore?

What are your thoughts guys?

    everything you describe i get and im doing a super slow taper! i havent slept through a night in 2 years.

    so what i gathered i had was" inter-withdrawel" built up to 10mg then dropped to 5mgs instead of maybe 7/8mgs so withdrawel symtoms set in 3 days later. (and citlopram has a shirt life 35hrs amd takes 3 days feel affects of leaving system hence symtoms. so went to 7.5mg today and no crazy symtoms (shakes throwing up ect) just yet but still really tight chest and high anxiety.

    going to be a bumpy journey to find a stable dose. learning alot from all this.

      i always feel okish for about 8-12 weeks then withdrawal hikes up.

      we sound similar. did you go through akathesia at any point when you were up dosing?

      what was your highest dose you came from?

      ive had it all the way through but not everyday! on better days basically all symptoms go away!

      hi Toria seem to be be going thro the restless akathesia stage had a good week but has come bk. not sure why as stuck to the same dose. did you take any beta blockers durin your time? just heard mixed reviews with some people suffering interactions
