This is my first day home after 6 days in the hospital after revision TKR. My first TKR was last November. I knew the first replacement wasnt right. i couldnt do leg raises, my knee cap had moved to the side and the knee was constantly swollen...luckily not a lot if pain. My GP told me 20 % of TKRs were not successful too. i asked for a second opinion and at an orthapedic hospital with a specialist in revision surgery. Luckily i got the best an expert in revision surgery. without saying a lot of negativity I knew he was shocked at my previous surgery and put me on his priority list. Within 5 weeks he did my surgery. im wearing a brace to keep the knee straight and am not to bend the knee further than 60 degrees until i see him in 3 weeks. I could raise my leg right after surgery.
Dont give up keep fighting until you find a solution. I intend to be with the 80% who are happy with their new knee.
