Should I go to the Doctor

So today is my 5th day on the upped dose of 50mg from 37.5mg but I feel worse than ever.  Should I make an appointment and go see my doctor.  I am more irritable and having more panic attacks than I was on 37.5mg?

Woke this morning feeling super anxious, I hate the ups and downs on this medication when does it start to level out. I mean do you ever wake up not anxious or is this how it will be forever? I am so tired of fighting this.

Hi Richard the mornings will get better, i still feel a bit anxious but im learning to try to ignore the feelings and try to relax. When you get up keep as busy as you can and im sure you will see an improvement soon.

I am just feeling so sick to my stomach this morning dry heaving all over the place. I just can't envision this getting any better. I am so scared that something else is wrong and not just anxiety I mean why is my stomach so upset with these pills I've been taking them for 25 days now well 50mg for nine days. Yesterday I woke up and was motivated to do stuff but when I tried I lost all energy to do it and today I feel awful from the beginning.

You must give it time, everyone is different. i'm  on 50mg and the side effects are horrible, my energy levels are so low, i have two boisterous Border Collie dogs that are used to being walked for miles three times a day, im lucky if i can make it 100m somedays its just awful but it is improving. The more you panic that there might be something else wrong with you the more your anxiety levels will go up. Has your doctor suggested CBT group sessions? i start mine on Tuesday evening and i think they teach you to think in a different more positive way.

I do go to therapy but we mostly talk about what's happening and how I am feeling, I know I shouldn't think of other possibilities for feeling the way I do and I really want this med to work but I am not sure if I should try a different med or give Zoloft more time.

Give it time, it will get better, I was the same as you around the first month, the dry heaving will stop so will the sickness feeling, try drinking peppermint and camomile tea as these are calming to the stomach and bannans are also good.

I assure you it will it takes time, when doctors say 4-6 weeks they should say 4-6 months, keep a diary so you can see on a week by week basis how far you've come

It's just really bad to not the anxiety but the feeling of having no energy and my stomach, I tried going out to do some stuff but lost all energy once out and about. I ended up coming home to sit. Does this part give up anytime soon did you have a loss in energy.

Yeah loss of energy was bad that lasted a while for me, just do what you can, maybe take some time off work.

Do you know by chance why people get the dry heaving and issues in the morning on zoloft?

    Hi Richard -

I just spoke with a psych about this on friday. Apparently, everyone has a "threshold", and if you go above that threshold you can start having really negative side effects and its a sign to go back down. For my son, he became seriously depressed and suicidal. Please follow your instincts, some people thinkg Zoloft is a very minor SSRI and everyone in the world is on it, but its very powerful and effects people differently. don't underestimate it or how you are feeling.

Yes my morning have been real bad up til now I dry heavy every morning but today I actually threw up, I am always shakes and more anxious than I have ever been in the morning. Not sure this med is for me I need to talk to the doctor tomorrow because I can't go in like this. I am trying to give it time but nothing seems to be settling down and it's scaring me.

Hi Richard im sorry things arent improving for you and it will be interesting to see what advice the doctor gives you tomorrow. Its horrible when you feel the medication isnt working but believe me one month ago today i was a jibbering wreck and today i had to have my annual endoscopy at the hospital as i am a Coeliac and i went in there cool as a cucumber and had it done with no sedation whatsover, there is no way i could have done that two weeks ago, so take that on board that it still might be very early days for you yet.

I am trying to give it time, I really am.  I was on 25 mg for 7 days then 37mg for 8 days and now on 50mg for 10 days.  It just seems like it is getting worse and not better I feel more anxious now than I did before I took the meds and I am shaking.  The dry heaves in the morning are the worst because they set my stomach up for a bad start to the day.  I still have not regained an appetite and my head is still foggy.  I keep thinki9ng tommorrow I'll wake up and I will feel good but my good days are very far between the bad days.
