Hi

I have been taking PPI in my 9th day now. I am starting to have back pains, side pains and vomiting. Is this due to side effects of the medication. I am taking Nexium now.

Hi Tina, I've been on ppi's for 15years only thing I experience with is loose stools sometimes and the occasional bouts of nausea, I'm waiting to see Gastro consultant because I'm worried aboat the long term effects of being on these drugs...if your only on them short term you should be ok xx

Hi Tina, I have spent many years doing research on all different types of PPI medications.  One might be better than the next but they all have one thing in common.  They are poison for your body.  There are lots of long term affects do from this medication.  I had reflux from the time I was 17 to the time I was 30.  I decided enough was enough and couldn't take it anymore.  If I went a day without the pill I was in so much pain.  I felt like a drug addict because I couldn't live without the medication.  It wasn't until I started reading up on a new type of procedure called LINX.  Keeping the story short, I had the procedure and I have been PPI free for almost 2 years.  From the day they put it in till now I have not had to take any medication and I feel soo much better because of it.  Don't believe anything your doctor tells you.  They don't know the first thing when it comes to acid reflux and why it is occurring.  They only know how to put a band aid on the problem.  They don't know what the root cause is.  See a specialist and ask about the Linx.  Best decision I ever made.

Hi Jason, problem is you've got to get referred by your GP to see a specialist! I was referred and he up the PPI to double the BMA recommend dose, I was told by two professional people that the dose was lethal.
