Sleepless Nights

6 weeks on from RTKR and still experiencing sleepless nights no matter what time I go to bed wake up after 1 - 2 hrs in agony with pain and restless leg on operated knee, take pain meds before bed Dr also gave me some Amitryptiline to help with the restless leg but was almost climbing up the wall last night any other suggestions welcome can't take stronger meds like Tramadol or OxyContin

    Oh my gosh. I had my TKR the beginning of December and last night is the first night that I can actually say that I had a good night sleep. Of course it is different for everyone. I still can't get to sleep until two in the morning but I finally slept all night without waking up to knee pain. I can't even describe how good that feels.

    Good luck, I hope you don't have to wait as long as I have for an actual good night sleep

      Lol. I don't know if it will continue. Actually it probably won't because as with everything else it is one step forward and three steps back. But it's all good. I will get there eventually. I sure hope you will heal quickly and get back to normal.

      At least we don't have to put up with the "old" knee pain that we have put up with for years.
