Slight leaking after anterior and posterior repair plus vaginal hysterectomy

I am now nearly twelve weeks post op for an anterior and posterior repair plus a vaginal hysterectomy. I feel I have recovered really well after the surgery, I was never in a great deal of pain, and have tried so hard not to lift, do too much and allow my body to heal.

My reason for eventually opting for the surgery was leaking of urine, I do quite a lot of sport, badminton, jogging, step and horse riding and it was getting worse.

I am concerned that the surgery may not have worked, I feel there is still a bulge on the anterior wall and often feel my bladder isn't empty. My major worry is that I am still leaking when bending down, any slight trip and when walking. It seems worse now than immediately after surgery. ??

Has anyone experienced this at this stage after surgery, am I expecting too much too soon?

    dear Sheila and all,

thanks a lot for the discussion and the tip on the app.

I had an anterior and posterior repair 2 weeks ago and I am recovering slowly but was expecting a magical fix of the leaks. The physio has confirmed that I should work on the pelvic floor muscles with dedication and should not give up! She seemed to imply that further to the surgery the exercices will work and achieve their goals as before, it could not!

Hope you are doing well and stay positive as it is really depressing to have to endure leaks stills.

let me know how you are getting on with the exercices.

No improvement with me either, start using the Kegal Ultra 8, so now hoping for a miracle but if not definitely going back to see consultant as can’t live my life ruled by thick pads and where’s the nearest toilet!!, But I will leave it longer as I know these exercise don’t work the magic over night.
