I am the same. Been on this for 5 weeks and lost 6lbs. So slow and I am being so strict. I am paying a lot of money for these tablets over here in NZ so I am doing everything I can to make them work but it is extremely slow. I am thinking I would probably lose thatby being on low fat diet alone!

I was wondering about salmon as I love it but isn't it very high in fat? Will it give us the runs?

Hi, you are right, salmon is very fatty - trouble is it's a fat that is so good for us. I have been having salmon (although a small piece) and so far it hasn't given me any nasty side effects - but saying that, nothing has given me any nasty side effects! Only one way to find out honey!!!

Well I have had smoked salmonĀ 3 times now with no harm done, next step a small salmon steak :-)

I have had no side effects yet either. I did stop the pills for Friday and Saturday as we were at a friends for the weekend and I was not willing to risk any embarrassment

Yeah it's really odd, I'm guessing that if you are on a really low fat diet then there is nothing to come out - yep, maths definitely adds up on that one - so why then do some of us not lose weight? I have tried having a couple of fatty meals in the past and although I went to the toilet readily enough, there was no oilyness. I had a really bad week last week and was very unwell and couldn't keep anything in or down top end or bottom end but I put that down to a stomach bug because I felt really unwell. Who knows? Anyway, you can try and see what happens, I think if you are careful throughout the day then a piece of salmon will be fine. Let me know if it affects you. x

Soup can be a low fat meal - depending what you put in there, I make my own tomatoe soup it has a little fat mainly olive oil. Its a great filler up!

Hi, god that is so annoying, I completely understand your frustration. That happened to me in the first few weeks and I had to increase my calorie intake as I wasn't eating enough. Once I had a couple of larger meals over a period of 2 weeks the weight started to come off (honestly, I kid you not). I now stick to 1400 calories per day but stick to the low fat regime. I also wouldn't rule out any one food group because this diet as got to be sustainable long term and if you cut everything out you are going to find it very miserable. Also, with exercising, if you cut out carbs your body has nothing to turn to glucose and so you will have a serious lack of energy and won't be able to muster up any energy or enthusiasm for exercise. I know it's really upsetting when you don't feel you are losing it quickly enough, but it took us all years to pile it on and so it won't come off overnight and you've done well with the exercise etc so just keep going. I haven't lost any for 9 days now and I've been out on my bike a lot, walking the dog, sticking to diet, and last week was so ill for 4 days I couldn't even keep water down - totally bummed out this morning when I weighed myself. So I do understand as I feel frustrated and tearful again today. Play around with your calories a bit because age and size and activeness all play a big part in it, but just keep going. You are heading in the right direction and making good decisions re exercise. Good luck this week.

Well done honey, that is brilliant. I am really pleased for you. Yeah all those problems you have had will definitely be slowing you down. I have started the menopause and so think that is having an effect as I've lost weight before and it's come off easily. Typical, now that I want to lose it properly and get healthier, it all slows down. We'll just have to keep plugging away. x
