Small red dots on Penis

Posted , 9 users are following.

Hi,

I had protected sex about ten days ago, and now I have these little red spots on my penis head.

There is no pain, no swelling, no itching, no discharge.

Just discoloration.

And its freaking me out.

Please advise.

Given the sudden appearance of so many red spots, why not see a doctor and get it diagnosed?

I have booked but GP takes a while.

Until that happens, I am stressing my little heart out. Just wanted to put my mind at ease by at least getting an idea of what it could be.

If you were using a condom, it's highly unlikely that this would be an STI.  It looks more like mild balanitis, and may be completely unrelated to the sex 10 days ago (unless you reacted to something in the condom).

If you're in the UK, you can normally get an appointment within 48 hours at a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.

If you could update this thread and tell us what the doctors say, it would be appreciated.  Good luck.

These links talk about balanitis, though the second one is written for doctors:

    Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor.

    Hi elijah,

I would go see the doctor always but I think I've had that once.

    Are you on antibiotics?

Antibiotics can kill the natural bacteria the keep under the foreskin good.

or just washing with strong detergents or the spermicide in the condom lube can do it.

Basically it's possibly candida / yeast / fungal that has took hold due to the loosing somehow of the good bacteria.

You can try Canesten dual action 1% w/w cream with active ingredient Clotrimazole. Just put a very thin smear on twice or three times a day and don't wash with detergents / soaps / shower gels etc just wash your penis end and forwskin with water.

But keep the doctors appointment and go see what they say.

    Good luck

    Good luck

So I went to the doctor today.

As people here thought, she suggested fungal infection and prescribed Canesten!

Its a load off my mind. Gonna post back here if there are any other updates smile

I know it's been 4 months since you last talked here, but can you give any update as to how it's been for your "little buddy". From the pics here, it looks like I have the same issue. Also I've been dying of anxiety about it. So thanks in advance.
