So fed up!

Ok, I've been gluten, wheat, yeast and dairy free for over 3 weeks now and I absolutely feel no different! I'm constantly needing the loo for a bm and most of the time actually go so it's not just the sensation. My bm vary but are usually 5/6 per the Bristol stool chart! I honestly don't know where all the poo comes from, there's so much of it!!!!! This can't be normal!! My diet has been very bland recently with taking everything out of it,I take a probiotic tablet and drink magnesium supplement every day! I was really hoping this was food related, but am fearing its not!! I appreciate it's only been 3 weeks but I would have thought I'd have felt some difference!? I'm also extremely exhausted all the time and have constant growling/ rumbling in my bottom, not abdomen area!?? Also I fear having an accident as the feelings are that strong, quite often when I feel I need to pass wind I have to hold on as feel as though I'll poo myself😞😞 I have to keep taking loperamide in the hope it gives me a few hours poo free to go out some days! Really at the end of my tether and don't know what to do! Feel I needed to rant and this I feel is the best place for it! 😞😞xx

Magnesium is a known laxative. Why are you taking it? Probiotics can make things worse too.

Intolerance blood tests are not worth the paper they're written on so don't go by them. Have you had a stool test at the Dr to rule out food poisoning etc?

You could always try an I'd fashioned elimination diet- Strip your diet back to nothing but white meat and white carbs for 3-4days then slowly add in one thing at a time and see how you go.

Is it? I'd read the opposite, a previous post on here said taking a supplement magnesium helped them so I thought was worth a try also I started taking it because I've stripped my diet of everything and was thinking I needed to replace some minerals!!

No stool test, I have an apt tomorrow re another problem I have so waiting to see if that's possibly part of my issues first! If not I'll go back to doc on Friday!

Thanks for your reply 😘 Xx

Magnesium is a laxative.  Some people take Milk of Magnesia if they are constipated.  If you already had loose stools before. magnesium will make this worse.  It might be better not to overload your body with supplements unless you really need them.    It sounds like magnesium could be the problem.  Stop taking it and see if your stools firm up.  If they don't try bananas or rice to bind your motions.

I empathize with you but have no advice. I guess you need to see another doctor. Good luck.
