Sore clitoris

I have asked about this before but I continue to have trouble. I hardly ever see posts from other ladies about it so I wonder, is this mostly unique to me?

Since I started steroid, I get an irritated clitoris. At the beginning of steroid application there it felt swollen and like I was somewhat stimulated for no reason. The Gyn told me to stop putting steroid on the clit. That stopped the weird stimulation but I continue to have periodic irritation there. I can b fine then we have sex (And not rough sex either) the next day I may or may not b sore there. Or out of the blue I will have a sore day. (Mostly when it's touched or I wipe over it). Then it disappears And on and on. Do I hit it with steroid accidentally? I have LS on the clitoral hood so I need to put some there. Maybe it just penetrates thru the hood to clit??? I can't find a definite answer to this. I do feel it reacts to the steroid. (I think!) I don't even know if I have LS on the clitoris or not!!

Any thoughts??

I'm presently quite discouraged about this LS. I know it's good to be at peace and not stress but I feel so sad about it all. Our sex life has changed... My diet has changed.... And I'm only 44. It's a lonely disease.

Hi Sandra, I get discomfort there too where it feels bruised and sometimes swollen. This comes and goes.

What I would like to know from those who use dermovate or any other steroid, when you say it helps, does it stop all pain, rawness and discomfort?

I am currently using Elocon along with Oilatum cream since Friday and as yet I have no improvement. Is this too soon? How should I be feeling?

    Any advice gratefully received!

I have just written a long reply to Nicole. You may find it helpful. My 'hood' was completely white. It was really bad. It has now all disappeared.

I found that response to Nicole. That's very interesting! Please keep us posted.

I did go to a natural Dr and had yeast show up in my blood work. So he wanted me to do acidophilus 2 x a day for one month. I have a sugar restricted diet also and take a really good vitamin. But wonder about that herb mixture??? What kinds of herbs are you using? What kind of testing did the herbalist use? Thanks for the help.

Hi, I have had a sore clitoris (it feels like a bruise that hurts when you catch it)  What I found worked for me was to apply a tiny bit of Clob under the hood of the clitoris twice a day (half a pearl size) making sure to massage it into and on top of the whole area, I did this  for around five days, and then it disappeared for a few months, sometimes recurring, and I would then repeat the same, this worked for me, and fortunately I have not experienced this for quite some time,  its not pleasant, I do sympathize and I understand your sadness, I think many women feel the same.

Thanks for your understanding! Maybe I should try steroid on it inspite of gyn advice??

I can understand your view that the 'Clob' has caused the problems, but It really does sound as though your symptoms are LS, as what you describe, is something I have definitely experienced.  I think at the moment, if I were in your shoes, I would only use the cream when I experience pain in that area, for around four days, in the morning and evening, in the hope that inflammation goes down.

Then, I don't think I would apply any more cream in that particular area for a while, even though you have white patches on the hood, which might just have become sensitized, I am only guessing, however would recommend that you keep that area lubricated to avoid fusing.  This is only a suggestion of course, regarding what I would do personally, so you have to find what works for you, as your current approach does not appear to be working very well.

I have found in my personal experience, that a lot of this is 'trial and error' and so trying something different might be helpful, as I think you have to be a bit careful with applying 'Clob' in that particular area too much, and the key is finding the right balance, which is never easy!

Thanks for that advice. I did apply my steroid to my clitoris last night (which apparently is much weaker potency than Clob). I would say there's some improvement from yesterday but I have come to expect my LS to flare and retreat randomly so I will observe for a few days. Certainly, I don't have the swollen feeling that I blamed on the steroid previously. So maybe it was a bad flareup there. I don't see any white patches on clitoris or hood. But my Gyno saw evidence of it being on the hood somehow. I do appreciate the help of you kind ladies. I would feel lost without the guidance here.

Before I was diagnosed earlier this year, it often felt like my clitoris was aroused for days on end. I understand this to be active LS, the same as the itching or tingling one might get on the vulva or perineum.

I was told it was okay to apply it to the clitoris. I find the tingling sensation will quickly subside when I apply some. I'm not really able to retract the hood, but that is very much related to how I am built, with the recent structural changes compounding things. I find that mometesone (generic name of elocon) burns my clitoris more than clobetasol. The burning doesn't last long depending upon which cream/ointment I use and I find that as I stabilize more, there is no burning when I am irritated and applying it. The steroid gives me relief as does the baking soda soak.

I also apply ointment immediately after having sex and that seems to be proactively helpful.

I was thinking it was maybe a response to steroid but maybe I need to consider that it could be the LS itself causing my clitoral discomfort. This disease is very confusing. Thanks for the input.

I completely understand your hesitation for I had (have) it too. It seems so counterintuitive to put such a powerful steroid on that extremely sensitive spot. I should say I generally apply it only when I feel that feeling. I don't necessarily apply there when I'm doing the regular maintenance but I don't studiously avoid it like I did at first.

Thanks. You've been helpful and your understanding means much.

Same with me, swollen at times, then good again.  I hope it will improve yet.

I'm back! So I started treating clitoris with my steroid and again I'm feeling stimulated. Seems when I put steroid directly on it I get stimulation after awhile. Last time I stopped putting it on the stimulated feeling faded away. But I'm thinking I'm seeing some thickened whitish tissue against the one side of clitoris which really concerns me. Am I just sensitive to my steroid, which is cream? Or do I not have LS on clitoris and that's why I react this way?

I feel weepy and unsure of myself. I'm so confused.

Thanks for your care and thoughts.

Hi Gini13, I'd love to see your reply to Nicole that you mentioned, but can't find it. Am new to this site. Could you direct me please? Thanks

andi... Run down list of discussions until you come to nicole's discussion.........When does Clob start to work????......

You will find gini's post there.

gini also put a discussion on the forum covering the same comments but that was removed by moderator.

Can't understand why a posted discussion should be removed but virtually the same post was allowed as a reply in another discussion!!!

Hi. I'm new to this site too and have no idea why my info was taken down. I put the info there as I thought anyone suffering from this disease should know about anything positive that had helped someone. I have every sympathy with you. When I was using the cortisone cream it helped for a while but then everything just seemed to get worse and my skin was becoming very thin. I had small cuts and sometimes bleeding and the white areas kept spreading. I decided to see a herbalist. I have never seen one before. She told me that if I sorted out my gut so that it could absorb the goodness from the food I was eating then my body would repair itself. She gave me a herbal mixture which was personal to me but I know this isn't the main thing. (I couldn't take it for about 10 days). She explained that modern diets are lacking in important vitamins and minerals and good bacteria. In order to resolve this I juiced 10 different vegetables every morning. I took prebiotics (from the chemist) Making your own kefir is the best way though I haven't done this. I cut out sugar in most forms. Within a week I was improving Within a month all white and sore areas are healed. I used Emuaid homeopathic cream (available on Amazon). At first every time I went to the loo but now just once a day. My consultant has discharged me. I eat very healthily now cooking everything from scratch. I feel better in other ways too. I am 62 years old and all the aches in my joints have gone. The other thing she told me to take was magnesium daily. This helps the body absorb the nutrients. I hope this helps. I know this may not work for everyone. And I know what I did was a bit drastic but I was desperate. I wish you well.
