Spondylolisthesis-Grade 2 + DDD
Posted , 4 users are following.
I have a Grade 2 Spondylolisthesis at L4 plus two severely degenerated disks, I have suffered with it for almost 30 years. I have got used to the back pain ,but since 2010 I have been experiencing numbness at first but now a deep gnawing pain in my right leg if I stand for more than 30 minutes , or walk more than half a mile. I have been taking DHC Continus for the past 3 years , it helps a little, but a few months ago the pain started in my left leg so I had another MRI done , the scan shows severe compression of the right hand side nerve root at L3 , and compression of the left hand side nerve root at L4.
I am awaiting my Spinal Consultant appointment - 10 weeks away yet !,I just hope they can ease it , whether by Injections or Surgery.
I am 55 , and this has gone on long enough, I will post again when I have news , fingers crossed .

I will let you know what's happening. It's good to share how each other are doing. You will have to let me know when you have your operation.

My update is that i have Osteo arthritis in my right knee, the Consultant wanted to do a partial knee but i declined for the time being. I live alone and being on crutches again would be very hard with my other knee now causing nerve pain and locking, the left one as been replaced twice. I was offered steriod injections instead but i was quite upset at the time so was given a few weeks to think about it. I had a steriod injection in my spine 19 years ago and it didn't help and was very painful. Anyhow i spoke to people on these forums and had some good reveiws so i have decided to try them. I have an appointment tomorrow to see the Consultant to let him know i will try them. My Consultant doesn't do them so will have to go to another department, hoping i won't have to wait too long. I will let you know how the injections are when i have them. I don't think i have anything to lose by trying.
Keep in touch.

I have my injections in my right knee on Tues so i am hoping i have some pain relief for a while at least. I have heard a lot of good results, and personally know two people that have had the injections and found them to be great. I am having nerve pain in my left knee at the moment so if i have one pain free knee for a while that will be lovely.
Wishing you the best and hope the operation and recovery is worth the wait.
