Hope everyone is ok 😊
Started week 7 on citalopram today.
The past week the depression has slowly been creeping up and getting worse. Seems to have hit a peak today so feeling really bad and struggling.
Depression has been on and off since starting. Does that mean it will likely pass again. I'm worried I'm getting worse as I feel like I did when I first had my break down. It has passed a little in the evenings the past week around 4-5pm. Just leaving bad anxiety x I feel I can cope with anxiety better as there are meds and tools I can take or do to help, where as depression is a lot harder for me to deal with x
I'm getting really worried that the meds arent working and that I'm spiraling and will end up having another breakdown again as I feel not far away.😓
Anyone who has dealt with this or felt like this roughly at this stage would be great to hear some positives and to give me some hope to keep going as I'm close to packing it in now and just giving up x I haven't felt this bad since my breakdown last year. them same feelings are back

Hi potatoghost
Here we are again! I'm now into my 12th week on 30mg and last week felt pretty good and on the way out of this black pit. The last two days have been horrendous and back to square 1 almost. I live alone and most of my friends are at work so I am struggling to see a way through. I'm off work at the moment and am thinking of packing in my job as despairing of a time when I'm able to return. Just hoping and praying this is a blip although hope is in short supply at the moment. Beginning to wonder if 30mg is too high. Anyone have any ideas how I might know? GP sweet but I'm not sure how much he knows. Thank goodness for all the wonderful people on this forum x

30 is too high dosage to take in just 12 weeks imo x these docs have so many people CNS screwed up on these meds x they are not to be taken with the idea that higher dosages are better x they just font work that way

Hi
Sorry should have been clear. I was on 20mg before this so it wasnt 30mg from scratch. it just seems so up and down this time that's why I wish I'd stayed on 20mg and tried to power through this blip but you sort of believe what the doctor says don't you? When he suggested upping to 30 I just went with it. I shall know better in future! Today have resigned from my job to try and take some of the pressure off. I wasnt enjoying it any way and it was a huge contributor to the stress initially so probably a good thing although it feels a bit radical. Just going to keep ploughing on hoping the good bits will soon outweigh the bad bits. Thanks for sharing. It really does help.

Thanks for advice. I am definitely getting better but still so up and down. Thinking of reducing back to 20 by slowly tapering off. Certainly not going up to 40 as doctor suggested!
