Hope everyone is ok π
Started week 7 on citalopram today.
The past week the depression has slowly been creeping up and getting worse. Seems to have hit a peak today so feeling really bad and struggling.
Depression has been on and off since starting. Does that mean it will likely pass again. I'm worried I'm getting worse as I feel like I did when I first had my break down. It has passed a little in the evenings the past week around 4-5pm. Just leaving bad anxiety x I feel I can cope with anxiety better as there are meds and tools I can take or do to help, where as depression is a lot harder for me to deal with x
I'm getting really worried that the meds arent working and that I'm spiraling and will end up having another breakdown again as I feel not far away.π
Anyone who has dealt with this or felt like this roughly at this stage would be great to hear some positives and to give me some hope to keep going as I'm close to packing it in now and just giving up x I haven't felt this bad since my breakdown last year. them same feelings are back

How are you doing? I'm actually thinking of going back on the zopiclone as have still got couple packets taking very low dose then trying proper taper along with the citalopram. Just been hit by awful depression again and after year of gradually getting worse hoping if I take citalopram will eventually kick in and proper taper will calm things down. Just loosing hope of a normal life at moment hope things improving for you

Only took them for insomnia not depression. Just figure as going cold turkey caused this maybe if I reinstated and tapered for bit and still took the citalopram might re jig my brain. Just after year getting worse and worse mental health really suffering. Citalopram couple weeks this time round, was on them for couple months, then the sertraline which made me worse now back on citalopram. Much as I hate zopiclone have reached rock bottom so figure go nothing to loose!

Really don't know, have been getting worse and worse the longer I've been off zopiclone long before I tried the SSRI. Cold turkey caused it so figure maybe if went on them for few weeks tapering off might calm things down can't go on like this got to try something!

just be careful as reinstatement does not always work especially after a certain amount of time has passed x

Not intending to stay on them permanently just interim until citalopram kicks in. When you can't leave house or participate in normal life haven't really got anything to loose. Have you stopped the citalopram yet?

Just keep pushing all of you!
I know its hard but one day, hour at a time. Took me soo long to have a sort of stabilisation.
I still have moments that I am more sensitive but nothing to compare to when I was starting.
Still a lot tired but I am guessing it is relate to food intolerances and hormonal changes.
Its been a year at the same dose for me but all the changes I had done the 2 years before that, just messed up and made it just harder and longer for my CNS to recover.
And I am sure my body is still in recovery mode.
Just want to tell you all, I think of you xxx

do you think a lot of changes made it take longer

Think any changes in meds or doses can set you back, I was on citalopram made hair fall out, then swapped to sertraline was nightmare, back on citalopram again just over 2 weeks. Def made anxiety worse, but we just do what we think is best. Think eventually things settle down again fingers crossed!

the thing with changes is they dont tend to catch up with you straight away, when i came out of hospital and had steriod indused pychosis i was ploughed with drug after drug until they realised it was all caused by the steriods which i didnt actually even need in the end as they thought i had ms but it turned out to be a bad migraine caused by the original drugs i was one funnily enough one of them being citalopram which i was put on for migraines, theyve actually caused scar tissue on my brain, anyway back to what i was saying, changes can take weeks to months to give you effects/withdrawals, so alot of people blame the last change when it could actually be the change before that x
