Squatting

It's been 5 years since both tkr's. I still have pain in both knees when I try to squat. Even to get something from a lower cabinet, I have to sit on the floor. Same for you? Any advice? Is this forever?

My left TKR was 2 1/2 years ago.  I can squat to some degree without pain, but not really low enought to easily get into low cupboards, the bottom of the fridge etc.  My problem is when I come to straighten up, I get a slightly painful little click which always makes me jump.  I feel it could be a bit of scar tissue, but as my knee generally works well for walking, etc, I am ignoring it in the hope that it might one day go away, as I do not want anything else done to it.

The only advice I could suggest to you would be some physio or squatting exercises to strengthen the muscles that support the knee when squatting.
