      Hi Colin

we do not at the moment have a car. Everything has to be done by bus. I bought some slippers ready to come into hospital. But my feet have swollen since buying them. So I didn't have any slippers. The nurses asked me nicely if I could get some more I said yes I will ask other 1/2. He went and got some because I can't go with him the ones he got again didn't fit. My other 1/2 then left my room took the bus to the nearest Tesco and got me a pair of trainers. While he was gone the nurse practitioner on this ward came into my room bugging me if my other 1/2 was back yet I said give him a chance he has only just gone. I explained he had to go on the bus but it fell on deaf ears. She came back 10 mins later again aggressive and asking if he was back yet I said no I will phone him to see where he is. She then threatened that if I did not have shoes or slippers I would be cancled for my op. My husband came back while this was happening she was leaning over me threatening me and being aggressive towards me my other 1/2 is very angry about this and I feel this it why my op has been cancled and not because of there excuse that the ward needs a deep clean.

Her behavior and comments are completely out of line. Really, sounds like she is not rational.

Can't believe they would cancell over not having a pair of slippers. You can easily find out if their reason is bona fide by ringing the hospital and ask if the ward is open.

Still count yourself lucky on two counts. If the ward did need a deep clean then there was a threat of a virus there. Secondly I'm just looking at footage of a Russian doctor punching a patient. It's on the bbc Web page. Take care and hope you get your op soon

I have put in a request to see my records. I am also going to be getting legal advice once all this is over. I am so fed up of some of the attitudes of some of the staff on this ward. Some of them are like little hitlers. Some of them come into work like some one gave them a mug of acid not coffee or tea. It is not a nice place to be to be honest.

I would complain but I thought your operation had been cancelled due to the pressure sore ?

I was told that was the case but I now feel this nurse may have had a hand in making my surgeon cancel me any way because that is what she had threatened to do.

Yes, firstly to ward manager or sister. If it could not be sorted at that level then to ceo. What happened?

Well well. Any other witnesses beside your husband? Get them to write it all down, and what went on before the same as you have just written to us. Then complain formally. PALS, CEO etc. A nurse practioner does not and cannot make decisions to cancel operations so that bit was purely trying to manipulate and intimidate you.

My other 1/2 has written a letter to both the CEO and my surgeon they should get it on Monday. It has been sent recorded delivery so they can't Denbigh the didn't get it either.

I have asked that this nurse no longer has anything to do with me when I come back in. If that can not be arranged then I want an independent witness with me when she visits.
