[quote:bd96936f65=\"reuben1981\"]Hi All,
Just got from [color=blue:bd96936f65][b:bd96936f65]boots[/b:bd96936f65][/color:bd96936f65] this afternoon, and it went very well.
BMI was 31.6.
Paid for 3 months worth of supply for £125 (500 points worth £5), so really paid £120.
The chap said that if they dont work after the 1st month, then i would be given a £82 refund, which I am happy with.
Going to start them tomorow morning.
Off out shopping tonight for low fat food, and will be hitting the gym 3-4 time per week only doing cardio.
Thanks.[/quote:bd96936f65]

It might be worth taking a supplement and seeing if it makes a difference.

I've decided that if this nurse does take me off the tablets, I'll make an appointment to see my doctor and see what she says. I don't think this nurse has any idea what it's like to be overweight, she's stick thin! It's not easy for any of us to lose weight and I think we need all the encouragement we can get. My usual nurse is lovely and has been great all the way through.
Thanks again for the support everyone.

I called and registered with MAP and it turns out each meal needs a minimum of 10g of fat no more than 15g. So for breakfast on Friday I had a tin of spaghetti, 2 slices of wholemeal bread no butter one with marmite and the other with very thin choc spread, breakfast boulders of something and milk which is way more than I normally eat but it did seem to help. I wonder if it defeats the object if I am eating more than normal. Although that said I do read labels and understand them now so maybe eat better for the amount of fat and also that you need to really get your heart rate up to burn stored fat - nothing to do with Cals.
I had a hen night tonight = chinese buffet - so was advised not to take tabs = the meal was awful and I fell as though I need the tabs. I cannot wait for brekkie tomorrow. Sad isnt it.
Anyway I am doing slimming world too so trying to incorporate the 10-15g fat in that.
So you may not be eating enough maybe?

I am on the Patient UK editorial team. We've just launched a feature on the Mediterranean diet that I'd like to bring to your attention.
I am sure many of you will have heard of the Mediterranean diet and some of you may have even tried a supermarket or popular magazine version of it. Please set all those experiences to one side.
In preparation for writing about the Mediterranean diet for Patient UK, I went back through all the scientific papers on the subject to find out exactly what the diet was; what science has shown the health benefits might be; and what you actually had to eat. The research stretches all the way back to the 1970s and there doesn't seem to be any dispute within the medical/ scientific community about the benefits of the diet.
Here's a few key things I found out:
[list:2919c812b9] It is to do with the proportions of things you eat (meat, veg, oil, nuts, wine...) rather than any particular recipes or ingredients. You don't need to cook any Greek, Italian etc dishes at all.
 There are plenty of things to 'snack' on.
:D You can buy everything you need to follow the diet in your local food shop. You don't need to join any clubs or take any medication.
 The health benefits include: reduction of risk of developing -> heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, dementia... (indeed many of the diseases everyone is worrying about)
8) Following the Mediterranean diet has helped people attain an ideal weight (and there are a number of scientific papers on this).[/list:u:2919c812b9]
I was so impressed by what I read - I started the diet myself.
Anyhow - if you are interested, you'll find everything you need here:
[list:2919c812b9]
:fish: Introduction page and video
:doctor: information about the scientific investigation of the diet
:chef: details of the Mediterranean Diet ingredients and how to get started
:tomato: a quick summary and 'try at home' tick-chart[/list:u:2919c812b9]
I hope you find this helpful.
Bon appetit!
