it sounds daft but you really might not be having enough fat. for my first 2 weeks i stuck to weight watchers diet and didnt lose a thing i was worried sick until the helpline advised me to increase fat intake to 10 - 15g per meal and it worked.

havent looked back since infact some meals i struggle to eat right amount of fat. why dont you give it a go and see what happens smile smile

as for the wind - find someone to stand next to and tut very loudly saying how disgusting then run off very quickly. denial is always best ha ha  i only tend to suffer it after i have been exercising then i blame it on the dog or the husband !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi guys

Well should have started the 3rd week of blueys today but been forced to quit as had a bad reaction (see my other post on skin rash)... have had nonstop itching, rashes and stuff the past 2 weeks so have to quit on advice of my doctor!

Good luck to everyone still on the blueys... you can do it!

Hi i have suffered with IBS for 7 years and started taking Orlistat in OCtober. So far I have lost 1 and a half stone. I lost nothing over the Christmas period.

I have found my IBS can play up depending on what i eat. Some days it can be a nightmare but that is how IBS is anyway and others i go as normal 30 minutes after a meal and that is it until the next. Both my doctor and my nurse know I have IBS and are happy for me to continue on the pills.

Give them a try at worst you have to stop them. This is the first thing in my life that has helped me loose weight and I have dropped from a 20 to just under an 18 all ready, so looking forward to clothes shopping when i drop to a 16.

Just ad my 1st months weigh in with the nurse. Lost 10lb in total really chuffed. smile Ive a long way to go but this is the start. Holiday to Turky in June so not have to do the worrying about seatbelts and sunbathing. Hope this motivates some of you. Nurse said they are happy with any loss so I felt no pressure. Good Luck

WOW Mamma Jo, 5st 6lb, that's amazing, what else have you been doing to lose all this? This is the most I've ever known anyone to lose in that space of time.

Brilliant, keep up the good work.

I have been on the tablets for 3 months now. I ate pretty normally for the first 2 months (which was overeating junk in reality). I had no side effects but didn't lose any weight!

On the 5th January, I started writing down my daily food intake and reduced my calories to 1800 a day. I also started swimming daily.

I've lost a stone to date.

Is the Orlistat helping or not? I'm not sure.

Last week, I had to see the nurse.

She was teeny tiny but encouraging about my weight loss.

She did however tell me to join slimming world and stop counting calories as I must be cutting out food groups!

I appreciate her concern, but at 27 years of age, having been overweight for most of my life, I do understand what to do and what not to do!!

Have to admit, am a bit fed up of everyone having gastric bands fitted. Doesn't seem fair I can't try the easier route!!!

Wish I could afford it lol.

I am currently 19stone1lb and have 8 stone left to lose. I'm hoping to have it done by my 30th birthday!!

Have been taking tabs for just over a week and go to slimming world tomorrow night. So lets see what happens there.

Would feel reluctant to have more fat in my meals if I dont have as much as 10-15g?

Tan here, I was being lazy and haven't bothered to log in.

Oh my god where did that come from, I have been eating really low fat all the time, the only thing I can think it must be was the beef brisket I had at the weekend, as it tasted a bit fatty.

Thankfully I was on the loo, but I tell you what I'm going to be very aware of my bowels today

I have my first weigh in at the doctors today so fingers crossed I've lost, I know I've reduced measurements as my belt does up two notches more now :D

    sorry to hear that!

I wish you all the best on your weight loss journey. youve changed your mindset and I hope you can carry on your new eating ways without the tabs.

    Hi All

Am new to all this and haven't been brave enought to go and get the tablets yet but I will do today after reading all your experiences. I was a bit worried as I had heard that you shouldn't be too far away from a loo when taking them! I will start them tomorrow hopefully as I'm off work and can stay at home just in case of emergencies!

Its really good to read all the success stories and I really hope thay work as well for me.

Did anybody get given a diet sheet of any sort from their GP when they were given the prescription or is it all explained in the leaflet with the medication?
