3 weeks ago a man from map rang me up did his little review and was suprised i had lost 9lbs in 3 weeks, told me i needed more fat in my diet, so begrudginly i tried to increase a little and now i am not losing weight, have been the same for 3 weeks since just after my last weigh in. worried that my next weigh in is on 23rd and even though i have lost my 5% IN 3 MONTHS TARGET they will take me off as not working!

what am i doing wrong??? help!!! i feel so fed up!

    Hiya Hezwad

I've been told myself that I need to increase my fat intake

I absolutely refuse to do so, my theory is why increase my fat intake so the tablets can get rid of a 3rd of it, surely its better not to eat it in the first place

Obviously what you did in the first 3 weeks worked for you, I'd go back to doing that

good luck with your next weigh in

    hi everyone,

can anyone tell me what is going on...

i've been on the pills since 26.09.

i feel a bit thinner and look a bit thinner, but the scales and the tape measure are telling me nothing has changed.

    what is going on.

due to have my first weigh in on 26 feb...and so scared.

has anyone else had this dilemma?

Tracey don't feel dishearted if tape tells you you have shrunk that is a good sign isn't it.

Your scales may read different to the scales you weigh on for weigh in.

So hang on in there and wait and see.I feel the same every month when i go for my weigh in,next weigh in on 18th of feb and as per usual time is coming near and i panic that i have not lost anything.

    Hiya Jelly....

I have noticed I have an circular area at the top of my leg that has come up in a rash. it is very itchy and about 2 inches in diameter. I ams eeing my GP about it on friday as I am having an op on my knee in 3 weeks and I have to make sure any rashes, cuts etc are cleared up before my surgeon will operate.

I hope this dosn't mean I am allergic as i have lsot 2 stone since october 2008, and I am hoping to lose at least the same again before October as I am going on a Cruise.

I have also noticed that my face is more greasy and spotty than it used to be?

I hope your skin problems stop now you have stopped taking the Blueys.

    Best wishes,

    Sue.

    Hi Julie,

I think most of us when we first started got very little information from the GP, so it is best to ring MAP on 08007317138 when you get the tablets and register with them - they offer very good phone support and also send out booklets and information to help you. You need a box of the tablets when you ring as they will need the bar code from the box.

I've come off the tablets for a little while but have managed to loose 2 and a 1/2 stone since June last year.

Good luck and I hope you get on with them.

I have just been given my prescription today, but before I take them I would like suitable sweet and savory menu ideas to minimise unwanted side effects. Any ideas please

    Hi,

Spag bol made with quorn mince is very nice with low fat jar of bol sauce.

have a side salad with it ,all very low in fat.

I eat loads of salads with chicken grilled in George Foremen, with jacket potato or boiled salad potatoes (about four small ones .)Usually with small tub of pineapple cottage cheese on top of salad instead of mayo.

Sometimnes i have a small tin of tuna with rice finely chopped onions and cucumber mixed with a tablespoon of lowt fat mayo with salad,it is vcery filling.

Hi to all, not been on for a while as I have had a few health/work issues. BUT..... I'm 43, used to crash diet all my life.... would put on a couple of stone (then a lot more) then lose it quick (then not so quick). I'm 5'3 and my last weight in was 15.7.... and going up. Last few years, no diets worked ...full stop! So, in last desperation I plucked up the courage to visit doc (whom I hadn't seen in years)! - Too frightened in case they just told me off. But she was lovely and I explained my weight problem and she put me on orlistat. Also checked BP, which I'm now on tablets for and have been diagnosed with diabetes. It catches up in the end.. but there is hope... I now have had a totally different outlook from before. I am NO LONGER ON A DIET! Seriously, this has helped me no end... I eat a moderate breakfast, and a low cal lunch, then normally eat a really flavoursome salad in the evening (anchovies, low fat bacon, sun blushed tomatoes, scallops or prawns) and I've steadily lost 1-2lbs a week. Soooo much slower than I have ever lost but I don't really feel like I've been dieting. I still eat a curry on a Friday night, but instead of a saucy one I just go for a tandori and just have a spoonful of sauce. If I go to another restaurant, I'll just leave some on my plate. Its still not easy, but its definately about re-training yourself. All in all, I've lost almost two stone quite easily and comfortably..... If I can do it ... anyone can! Its all in the MIND!! PS I went clothes shopping for the first time today and have dropped at least three sizes, a size 16!!!!! OMG! Good Luck and think of it as just a way of life. PPS I still really enjoy my food. x

    Hey Hezwad

I had exactly the sme problem as you. I am on my 6th week and to date have lost 12 and 1/2 lbs.

3 weeks in i had lost around 9lb and the guy from map said i wasn't eating enough fat. I didn't up it though i carried on doing what i was doing but my weight didn't budge.

So i decided rather than stay on the tablets and eat more fat that i would eat as i have been doing and ditch the tablets.

Its been 4 days now since i stopped taking them and my scales have dropped 2lb in that time.

I still feel really motivated and focused and don't feel i need to take them at the moment.

I think Olistsat really helped me at first to get in the right frame of mind and get past more than the first coupleof days and i will keep my supply just in case i need them in the future but at the moment i don't want to eat more fat just to take the orlistat.

I think if your eating a really low fat diet then they are probably not doing anything anyway. Its you making the diet work with what your eating.

Good luck and keep going. I know how disappointing it is when you are good and the scales don't budge but remember you may still be losing inches :D

    Regards Lisa.
