Hi weeasy, my anxiety increased at first, now I would say it's back to the way it was before I started. But I have good and bad days as well, I'm only on my second week so still early days x

From what I've been told by my Doc the first couple of weeks low dose (up to 50) is just to get your body used to the medication and to minimise the side effects - he reckons 100mg is the minimum 'effective' dose and even then that they take at least 4-6 weeks to get established in your system?

Hi been on sertraline for 3 days .. first 2 were a bit strange .. headaches major nausea and few "mini" panic attacks I've been put on for panic disorder and anxiety .. had my first panic attack two years ago and I've battled ever since with it becoming unbearable the last month or so .. so finally bit the bullet and asked for help as I am home with 3 beautiful children .. I'd say I'm feeling ok tbh that constant dread feeling has eased off although I'm still getting the butterfly feeling over nothing alot but it's improved already .. how is everyone else coping anyone only 3 days in? I do feel like other people seem to be having a much worse time on them ? X

I know it'so hard being patient when weve felt bad for so long but we've come too far to give up now and hopefully soon we will feel like our selves ! I'm still nauseous and shaky but I'm better than before meds so I'm happy to take the side effects .. I haven't been in any panic trigger situations yet though so I'm not sure how that will go Down .. when do ou take yours? Xx

It's early days yet .. I'm positive it will get better for you and if you feel they are not then something else can be done .. just stick it out for a few more weeks to give it a good chance smile I take mine in the morning too xx

Thanks becky smile I'm glad your feeling better than before you started, hopefully we will both be back to normal soon. I've been through all this before 2 years ago and it all went away so I know it can be done smile will keep I'm touch xxx

In my opinion it works but it can be confusing and the fuzzy feeling still persists 5 weeks in. The first 3 weeks can be demanding

    Go for it!!!!

I phoned my doc on Monday but he says to try persevere, the usual! And to go back a week on Friday, if it's not better to look at something else but I'm not trying anything else if I'm not better, would rather take nothing. Just feels like I can't enjoy life anymore with this hanging over me. Sorry to hear you aren't any better sad how many weeks have you been taking it now xxx
