Hi Sher, I'm just about to start taking Sertraline and wanted to see how you got on in the first week? Did it effect driving or anything like that? Hope you're getting on okay with it! :-)

Oh that's good to hear! Prescribed for reactive depression after a really bad break up.. Was having intrusive negative thoughts all the time, bursting into tears sporadically and not able to focus on my work. Actually got them about 5 months ago, and decided not to take them, but all the feelings above have come back after another bad experience! Did you feel you could concentrate during the day? xxx

Yes although recently my depression and intrusive thoughts r creepin back and im thinking about taking them in the mornin instead of nitetime as i find i struggle in the mornings to function or concentrate!! Im going out with a friend tomarrow night so this will be the first time in a long time iv been out without my partner, he is my rock so quite anxious about it! Iv only been on sertraline for 7 and a half weeks and i dont think i have got the full benefit of tbem, my anxiety is gradually improvimg in that im not constantly googling every pain or blemish i have but my depression is rearing its ugly head again xx

That's a good idea to try and take them in the morning. Good luck for tomorrow night - you will be okay. And it might make you feel better to know that you're able to do that by yourself? I heard it can take up to 3 months to feel the benefit of it. I wish there was something that would work instantly! xxx

Sounds great! I will definitely give that a try - thanks! Did you find any side effects like lack of energy after you had taken it? The gym is the only thing that keeps me relatively sane at the moment, so a bit worried that I won't be able to go for a while! xxx

    Hi

I've been on seroxat for most my life and have had few to no issues etc. I was born with what they now term a form of alexithymia meaning I have a near zero emotional response to anything. Doctors initially experimented with varied drugs like Prozac etc but most made me severely ill and non responsive then because I'd tried serotonin from a herbal supplier they agreed that they could monitor me totally with the prescribed drug. I never have felt depressed as you say nor had any other issues stated here, of fact I have little understanding of what you say you feel like as it's all unknown to me.

I can however say that I don't have to do what most do with the drug I just take it like others take a pain killer with a headache or the like but when I can't feel anything...like heat off an oven of water from a tap, or lifting else carrying heavy items.

When this happens I take about 5-10mg now and again and the problem is rectified.

Therefore I have no issues of getting used to the drug in my system nor any rebound withdrawal symptoms

I hope this might help others who are apprehensive about taking this medication if they have been prescribed it.
